Really and what do you base that on? Renshaw - a few matches old Marsh brothers- the less said the better Handscomb- again a newbie Wade- LMAO Except warner and smith, this line up is nothing, you are confusing the aussie ODI line up with tests
NareshK Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) Last time they toured India in 2013, India beat them 4-0 on rank turners. Why would BCCI decide to change the tracks when it worked so well for them the last time ? It backfired this time as they overestimated India's ability to bat on rank turners against good spinners. They would have also thought tracks like these would nullify Starc and Hazlewood. As for Australia, they just learned from their previous tours and also prepared well and put up a much better performance. There is nothing to suggest flat tracks would give India a great advantage. If you think Aussies are pushovers on flat wkts then there's nothing much to discuss. Maybe try starting a new thread with a poll regarding Aussies' batting ability and firepower on flattish wkts and you may get your answer. Edited March 4, 2017 by Ultimate_Game kira and waga 1 1

India scored almost 500 in the first 3 tests in the 2013, you are confusing a slow turner with a rank turner, we didn't have rank turners in that series, rank turners always give a chance to the opposition

Both Ashwin and Jadeja are ranked higher than any other spinner in tests which proves my point. As for the 2ns point I guess you missed the sarcastic "supposedly" in my original comment. They are only ranked that high because of the long stretch of home tests and feeble batting opposition who couldnt play spin. Ash and Jaddu relied on their batsmen to rack up 400/500 runs so they would have something out and work up the batsmen.. when our legendary batting line up aided by the Guruji Mukund dont even make up 200 what can a spin attack do. kira 1

We can have different opinions that's why I asked you the question, on what basis do you rate them the best batting line up on a flat track? don't start crying and calling names if you can't back your own opinion lol

We need flat wickets/slow turners so our batsmen and spinners both have an advantage over the opposition to play their strengths. kira 1

Doesn't matter whether they played at home or not, which other team do you think has a better spin attack in Tests? Let me list all the teams here... Australia: Lyon and O'Keefe Bangladesh: Shakib and company (extremely inconsistent) England: Rahid and Moin India: Ashwin and Jadeja occasionally backed up by Jayant Yadav New Zealand: Santner and Sodhi Pakistan: Yasir Shah South Africa: Tahir who's not even an automatic selection in Tests and probably Duminy Sri Lanka: Herath who's about to retire and nobody else to back him up West Indies: Bishoo (Narine is a poor Test bowler) Who do you think has the best spin attack? I would pick Indian spin attack in a jiffy and it's better than any other team's spin bowling.

I have watched all those games live and the ball was turning a lot from day 1. Shane Warne saw the pitch on day 1 at Chennai and called it an 8th day pitch. lol Back then, their spinners couldnt exploit the conditions because of lack of experience. They did it much better here. Still waiting for your answer, quit deflecting, now tell me on what basis are they the best batting lineup on a flat track? Don't run

Don't run If you don't think Aussies are the best batting lineup on flat tracks I can't do much. Maybe you can try telling us where exactly have you seen Australia being outplayed on flat wkts - be it Tests or odis. Aussies struggle when seam or spin, i.e. lateral movement of any kind, are on offer and if they get flat tracks they hammer you into submission.

Indian flat tracks do spin on the third and the 4th day, also the bounce on Indian tracks is not the same as that in australia, did you miss the australian tour to uae where this team was absolutely destroyed on flat tracks?

I didn't miss the 2013 tour either where they were white washed 4-0. Fact is Aussies learned their lessons and prepared to counter the pitches and tactics. India is not gonna beat this Aussie team on flattish surfaces.

The test series turned on its head with that 200 scored by Dhoni when Lyon was creating all sorts of problems in the 1st Test. If Saha had been there we would've probably lost the 1st Test and struggled but that knock, especially the counter-attack against Lyon, changed the complexion of the series. kubrickian and Sidhoni 2
