maniac
Have become a big fan of Bhuvi...the very fact that he worked on his deficiencies and upped his pace was a rare story of an Indian pacer whose graph went upwards after a good debut...That alone has earned our respect regardless of how much longer he continues. Bhuvi apart from Bumrah is the only fast bowler who is currently in the scheme of things in all 3 formats. Shami to some extent but he is not very good at T20s from what I have seen and being injury prone but a vital cog/backup in the other 2 formats ,he should be kept that way from T20. Ishant and Umesh have become kind of test specialists and Pandya right now is more of a batsman who can bowl so no concern there. Dropping Bhuvi in the 2nd test was a wrong decision obviously but having said that, looking at how his pace and bowling quality has dipped as the series went along shows that maybe he cannot sustain the intensity over a log period of time may be due to fitness/stamina issues. Rotating bowlers is obviously a no brainer.we absolutely need to rotate our bowlers especially the ones playing in all 3 formats or atleast 2 formats carefully. We have long tours of England and Australia coming up where we play 5 tests as well as the other 2 formats(I think) Now Bhuvi being one of our premier test bowlers, do you think he can last all 5 tests? and if he manages that as he is also integral part of the LOI squads, can he sustain his fitness and bowling pace across all 3 formats ? This actually even applies to Shami to some extent as well but Bhuvi in particular plays the additional format as well. How will he manage in these upcoming marathon overseas series where fast bowlers have to carry bulk of the workload. Bumrah is still young, not that Bhuvi is old but he has managed his workload like a champ...however, while no one doubts Bhuvi’s skill or his utility in all 3 formats, I think he should be used carefully. By that I don’t mean he should only play on green tracks or he is a Green Track bully but he should be used well so that we can get maximum mileage out of a very important bowler. Do you think he can maintain his intensity throughout long overseas tours? Should he play all test matches? Should he play all 3 formats? Edited February 15, 2018 by maniac Link to comment
vvvslaxman
In one dayers he should attack the stumps more. Length balls can be effective in Tests. But in ODIs length balls get targeted. Actually in last IPL his yorkers were effective. Not sure what happened to them now. Link to comment
Vilander
I think bhuvi has less core body strength than other fast bowlers. He needs to build some muscles in core. Link to comment

Kapil Dev is the best in seamlessly switching between ODI length, line and Test line and length. Kapil always bowled a strighter line in one dayers. He was even able to control his the movement of the pitch to such an extent even after pitching ball would not miss the stumps. Link to comment
CoverDrive
This has been a very long tour and can be really tough. I am really worried about Bumrah's workload too. He should be given rest in the 6th ODI Link to comment

For the kind of action, he has, it is his run up that is most important to him if he wants to bowl quick. Like Steyn, he too depends on the pace of his run to generate pace. he needs stronger legs to do that day in day out. Link to comment
WC2011INDIA
Bumrah is now in test team and will be playing in all the matches. Soon one of Kuldeep or Chahal will be a regular in test cricket. I can confidently say that one or two of Bumrah, Kuldeep and Chahal will burn out or get injured by the time world cup 2019 arrives.
