zen
WTC begins post WC19 Ind's schedule 2019 July: In WI (2 Tests) Oct: vs SA (3 Tests) Nov: vs BD (2 Tests) 2020 Feb: In NZ (2 Tests) Nov: In Aus (4 Tests) 2021 Jan: vs Eng (5 Tests) June: Final (TBD) To have a shot at the title, winning every game at home is paramount as we cannot afford to leave points on the table BCCI and TM would need to start planning Edited October 12, 2018 by zen Link to comment

zen
For Ind 3 series in Ind (SA, BD and Eng) 1 in WI 1 in Aus 1 in NZ Other major teams: Eng plays Aus at home SA plays Eng at home SA plays Aus at home Takeaways Ind playing Aus in Aus gets neutralized by Aus playing in Eng and SA, the two teams we play at home SA plays both Eng and Aus at home Edited October 12, 2018 by zen Link to comment
zen
Complete Schedule: Horizontal column = at Home Vertical column = at Away Link to comment
zen
IIRC, Each series is worth 120 points. Therefore, the value of each test = 120 points / number of tests in a series Tie = 50% of the points allocated Draw = 33% of the points allocated Therefore, no dead rubbers as far as points are considered It would help to have a longer away series, as it would allow visiting teams to acclimatize .... Ind plays a couple of tests in both NZ and WI so have to adjust quickly there Edited October 12, 2018 by zen Link to comment
zen
Most Consecutive Test Series Wins At Home Team Consecutive series wins From To Australia 10 November 1994 November 2000 Australia 10 July 2004 November 2008 India 10* February 2013 - West Indies 8 March 1976 February 1986 England 7 May 2009 May 2012 South Africa 7 March 1998 November 2001 Promising signs but now we have to win every game at home I hope that law of averages does not work against us at home and we lose games/series vs Eng and SA Link to comment

neel roy
Yes thats a bit absurd playing Australia twice in 2 years and not playing them at home Link to comment

Could have tried touring BD and playing Aus at home (as we would have toured in 2018/19 season). Recently, we toured Eng and SA as well, whom we play at home Link to comment
gattaca
Man this going to boring stuff. If the championship spans multiple years do people even remember what happened 1-2 years ago. This is setup for failure from beginning. Link to comment

Franco Vazquez
This tournament is a recipe for disaster. I think this tournament will be canceled once again in favor of something like CT but CT is useless if WC has 10 teams t Link to comment

This looks like a gimmick not viable. The is is more like regular test series that we would play but with WTC attached to it Whom we play the series with, iirc, is decided by us .... From the looks of it, it should be 6 series (3H + 3A) in the given period, which we would play anyways Link to comment
zen
From now on the test series will be a part of WTC .... Ind's schedule in 2019 Quote Ind's schedule 2019 July: In WI (2 Tests) Oct: vs SA (3 Tests) Nov: vs BD (2 Tests) 2 Tests in WI and 5 tests at home Link to comment
GolGappe
Pretty light workload as far as test cricket is concerned. India vs WI and India vs NZ should be 3-tests series. Who comes up with this 2 test series bullspit? Link to comment
Chalks
Definite recipe for disaster, like what is happening with the Davis Cup in tennis. India playing in Australia again before England next come here is just ridiculous. Link to comment
Lala
How come India going for test championship without facing Pakistan? Anyway I believe they won't be in the picture by 2020 Feb when NZ tour starts. Good Luck India. Link to comment
