Team for T20 WC based on IPLV The thread is opened to select players based on their performances in this IPL for T20 WC later this year. Match conditions will be very much similar that is why we can have very good idea as to who has the potential to play for India in the upcoming T20 WC. Personally, I believe MSD should not be included in that team and may have GG as captain and wk responsibilities can be handed to Naman Ojha or Robin Uthappa, who has done well both as a keeper and batsman this season for PWI. Team will be chosen based on the names put in at the end of IPL after seeing all the performances. Put your names.

Agree. Team will be chosen based on the names put in after IPL endsl. Selection of Dhoni as captain will depend on all posters' opinions.

Send a young team minus MSD, GG, Sehwag and Zak. Let Kohli lead the side. We have been knocked out in the prelims in the last two events. Even if a young team gets knocked out again, heavens will not fall. Uthappa (wk), Rahane, Kohli ©, Rohit, Raina, Manoj Tiwary, Irfan, Yusuf, Jadeja, Ashwin, Rahul Sharma, Umesh, Aaron, Dinda, Musa Patel

^ Good team.. I would look for other options in place of Manoj Tiwari (Could've some silly brianfarts), Yusuf (he needs total relaxation), Aaron (short of match practice and still unreliable), Dinda (Jury is still out on him performing at international level and on Lankan Patta pitches) Would like to have Bhargav Bhatt in the team. He surely is a dark horse. Would rather have Bisla in place of Manoj Tiwari (horses for courses). Harmeet Singh could be useful in place of Aaron. Irfan Pathan in place of Yuchup..

We know his class. IPL is for filling empty slots. We aren't going to drop Kohli' date='Raina etc if they don't perform in IPL, will we? Cause they've proven their mettle.[/quote'] But he is looking tired, uninspiring, and uninterested recently in most matches. We may give him break from one format at least now.

No videos. It was streamed online on BCCI site. He had 8 wickets in that match and 6 catches dropped in slips.

What's his pace like? Late 130s-Early 140s with outswing?
He is a fast medium bowler speed between 135-145, mainly stays in high 130s and swing the ball away beautifully. His bowling action is made for a fantastic out swing bowler. It was one of the best spell of bowling I saw on Indian pitches in that match. Opposition batsmen were mesmerized and had not clue. Still, I wont say he is already world class because you don't know until plays at international stage, but he certainly looked to have the ingredients to become a test strike bowler and he was very consistent and accurate too.

My site for worldt20 based on ipl performance:- Rahane Gambhir Kohli raina dhoni jadeja Irfan Harbhajan aswin Dinda Awana Ex:-Bhubnesh kumar,Mandeep singh,Rahul Sharma,Umesh yadav, rabin uthappa

I think its critical to open with sehwag and rahane given their form. Gambhir is in form as well at three. Dhoni will obviously keep and kohli is the new golden boy so the top five is essentially set. Probably rohit or jadeja as well. No idea who should go for the bowlers. Umesh probably given the great year DD are having and maybe Zaheer for his experience and guile. Spinners.....Hmmm not too keen on Bhajji now cant buy a wicket....Ashwin is slow fat hmmm. Sehwag Rahane Gambhir Kohli Raina Dhoni Jadeja Ashwin Rahul Sharma Umesh Zak Extras: Rohit, Mandeep, Dinda,

Viru GG Rahane Kohli Raina Dhoni Rohit Nadeem Ojha Umesh Awana Slightly long tail but there is 7th batsman. Ojha and Nadeem are two tight left arm spinners, forget variety, if you can keep it tight and pick up odd wicket you are doing your job. Umesh is attacking option and both him and Awana are good at mixing it up and relatively unknown which will help us. On flat pitches v international batsmen you sometimes need that extra bite to change the game when things are not going your way and Yadav and Awana have that more than predictable Vinay and PK. Raina/Rohit/Viru will be 5th bowlers.

1. 7 batsmen + 4 bowlers [ Dhoni included in 7 batsmen] 2. 6 Batsmen + 5 bowlers [again Dhoni included as batsman] no need of this bit and pieces allrounders...

How can people consider dropping Dhoni ,after some of the pathetic displays of keeping from local talent.....Dhoni is still the best WK-Batsman in India....I am not a fan of his captaincy skills but on the WK-Bat criteria Dhoni picks himself even if is not the best T20 'batsman'around.

Purely on IPLV, then Rahane, Sehwag, Gambhir, Rohit, Uthappa, Dhoni, Jaddu, Irfan, Dinda, Munaf, Nadeem subs: Rayudu, Awana, Murli Karthik, Buba Kumar, Raina
Kohli will be on the team no matter what.

No other decent spin no-rounder has emerged, jaddu pips both ashwin and bhajji in terms of fielding and batting to an extent.

^ Jaddu batting . Bhajji is better batsman at no. 7-8.
Stick to the thread title, "...based on IPLV". I have yet to see bhajji do anything of note with the bat in this IPL.

Sehwag Rahane Raina Yuvi(If he is fit at that time) Kohli Rohit Dhoni R Sharma/Ashwin Zak/Munaf(If Zak is fit, then it has to be him) Yadav Dinda
based on IPL Gambhir will find a place..whether opening or No 3 will defend..and Kohli may have to fight with Rohit for a place

kohli may not have had a good ipl but after his recent heroics no one is going to drop him.

bcz someone has lead our bowling and still he is our best off spinner & a good slogger.
Why does he have to lead our bowling? Are other 300 Indian bowlers dead? Dart after dart on the leg side is not going to work in international cricket against international batsmen. Best off spinner indeed, why do we need off spinners and how much better is he than Ashwin? Harbhajan has done absolutely nothing of note to deserve his place in the team
