Plus it was fake Obvioiusly continuous cases of gang rapes/eve teasing/sexual assault without any visible action by the govt, followed by another such incident where the accused was killed by brothers of a girl whom they were teasing and in turn two of the brother themselves being stoned to death had nothing to do with the communal clashes. Or that the girl's relatives were arrested but no arrests in case of the Hindu boys being stoned to death or the fact that despite section 144, a crowd of over 40,000 was allowed to gather for the jumme ki namaz on 30th Aug ( 3 days after the incident) did nothing to polarize the situation. All this despite being the entire area being on a tinderbox for ages. The Outsider Posted September 10, 2013 Share Posted September 10, 2013 As I posted earlier with the link, the sitting BSP MP Kadir Rana, 2 BSP MLAs and a ex congress minister were the first to violate the section 144. Also involved in the mahapanchayat were leaders of the RLD and other farmer leaders. Looks like it was a 5-6 handed clap, if at all. Because while all of BJP, SP, BSP, Congress, RLD have the means and opportunity, only the BJP and SP have the motive to polarize the state along Hindu-Muslim lines. So, while the local BSP, RLD, Congress netas might have indulged in the behti Ganga mein haath dho lo, it's difficult to fathom why as a party strategy they would indulge in it when it only benefits SP and BJP. And I am not implying that they are doodh ke dhule huye, if such things were to help them electorally in the current UP scenario they would also indulge in them. The fact is that BSP is going to be the biggest loser in case of a polarized election. They will lose out their Brahmin and Thakur vote to BJP and get nothing from the Muslim vote, which will still go to the SP. Similar thing with Congress and RLD, they will lose their non Yadav OBC and Jaat vote respectively to BJP and get nothing from the Muslim vote. And this is not just my analysis - there are numerous articles by various political analysts over the past few months along similar lines which can be found easily. Just yesterday Hindu carried an editorial along these lines. These events were predicted by many observing UP politics and the grass-root polarization at work there over the last few months. If you think they are all part of the pseudo secular media, there were various snippets during the 84 kos yatra episode shown on various TV channels where the locals went on camera to talk about increasing attempts to polarize the electorate, including one attempt where some idol's murty was stolen. There are IB reports showing increased polarization. Just a few basic common sense answers will help you get to the conclusions, many political observers have been able to reach: 1. Fact - there is increased polarization in UP. Can this happen to such a large extent spontaneously? No. Which political parties will be abetting it to happen at this scale because they are the biggest beneficiaries of it? BJP and SP. 2. Can Modi become the PM of India without winning something in the range of 35-50 seats in UP? No. 3. What are the realistic ways for BJP to get to that number? Only one, polarize the Hindu vote along the lines of 90s. Anyhow, my last post on the topic. I can't make things clearer or more elaborate than this. Let me tell you why. Any such riots with polarized voting will mean muslims voting for a block which has a maximum chance of defeating BJP. With BSP's core vote bank of dalits intact, all that the Con-BSP alliance needs is chunk of muslim votes to ensure both the BJP and SP are defeated. Even in the Durga Shakti case, there were reports that Congress was going to make razing of the mosque wall in a village a huge issue, but before they could mobilize support, Akhilesh suspended Durga Shakti and wooed the muslims despite strong and non top criticism in the media. Remember that a COngress neta had first complained to the authorities about the 'illegal mosque', It was a Congress leader who had reportedly complained about the construction of a mosque at Kadalpur village in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The demolition of a wall of the mosque has been cited as the reason behind the suspension of SDM Durga Shakti Nagpal. Less than an hour later, they were then lynched to death. To check the tide of communal tension, local officials banned public meetings. But just three days later, on a Friday, politicians extinguished any chance of a return to normal. After Friday prayers, a meeting was called by religious leaders and politicians in Muzaffarnagar, around 125 km north east of Delhi. With an audience of about 2,000 people, most of them Muslims, local leaders from the Congress and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party or BSP took the stage. When asked why they didn't intervene to have the meeting cancelled, local officials claimed they had been misled. Kaushal Raj, the District Magistrate of Muzaffarnagar, said that religious leaders had said the meeting would focus on collecting a petition demanding justice in the Kawal case, but that the gathering was then hijacked by the politicians - Qader Rana and Jameel Ahmed of the BSP, and Saeed-uz-zaman of the Congress. All three feature now in an FIR or police case on charges that include inciting communal tension. While Mr Rana, who represents Muzaffarnagar in Parliament was not available for comment, his colleague said that the rally had been sanctioned by local officials. Saeed-uz-zaman's son said the politicians had done no wrong, legally or morally. The opposition BJP, accused of instigating violence this weekend at a gathering of thousands of Hindu farmers, says that at the Friday session, the District Magistrate was on stage. Kaushal Raj told NDTV, he was blackmailed by the politicians who said that if he did not attend the meeting, they would march to a communally sensitive part of the city. The BJP also says that two leaders from the ruling Samajwadi Party were present at the gathering, but have not been featured in police cases. On Saturday evening, at a maha-panchayat, BJP leaders from the area addressed thousands of farmers with allegedly incendiary speeches, charges they have denied. On their way home, farmers were attacked and killed.
