Basically all the top Aussie batters who played in the last decade. And.. very few were slogs or rash shots. Most wickets were Ashwin beating them with Flight and Dip and earning the wicket. Beautiful to watch..

Skill wise Ashwin is still the number 1 spinner in India. He did not get the same privilege as Lyon, who was picked purely based on his bowling skill..

I don’t think so. Washi as a bowler has not been tested properly. Yes he had a good series against New Zealand, but we have seen this before with Pragyan Ojha, Jayant Yadav etc. Harbhajan was around for 3-4 years after Ashwin debuted, Ashwin had to prove himself.

Maybe Ashwin has taken inspiration from Gukesh and wants to become a chess GM now . Apparently he is very good at it now..

As someone from TN, he is the first player from the state who actually made it big enough to be called a Legend. TN had the talent, players like Mukund and DK should have made it big, but they didn’t have the mental strength like Ashwin. pinning my hopes the next big 3- Sai Kishore, Sai sudharshan and Washington..

Looking back , I can immediately think of atleast 5 matches whereAshwin saved us just in the last 4-5 years. Not by going through stats, just by memory I can remember them. Probably the biggest match winner to retire in Tests after Sachin..

Exactly. Now it is very critical that Jadeja gets some wickets now in second innings to boost his confidence. Else we are going to Melbourne, kind of a spin friendly wicket , with our least effective spinner.

Jadeja bowled horribly, worse than Sundar and Ashwin. But batted well. So what to do now, take a part time spinner for Melbourne or go back to Ashwin?? I would say drop Rohit and play Jadeja for him, but that won’t happen for sure.

I think he is overrated. If we had 3 strike bowlers who can keep going, he is not that hard to get rid of. He is respecting Bumrah and taking apart the other seamers. If India can’t find a wicket taker to partner Bumrah, atleast find someone like Ishant who can keep hitting the same line without giving width.

Nothing will happen, the scapegoats will as usual be Ashwin, who had a decent match, and the youngster Rana. Kohli and Rohit will play.

Washington Jaiswal Gill Kohli Sarfraz Pant Jurel Bumrah Deep Rana Prasidh Both KL and Easwaran will score single digit runs, so take a risk and open with Sundar. Saves us one spinner spot. I think Sarfraz will actually like batting in Australia, he seems to be a good back foot player.. With almost all batsmen out of form expect Pant, we Need to pack our batting with Jurel playing as specialist batsman.

Completely agree with Ashwin, asking players to apologise and ask sorry is pathetic. If they don’t perform, drop them, as simple as that. This is just a sport, why should players apologise to us?? Just because they earn crores doesn’t mean they are our servants..

Don’t think they are dustbowls tbh. Indian batsmen used to be good enough to score 300-400 on these pitches. Now they have regressed, that’s it..

problem is it is highly subjective. Does Sarfrazs innings in the 1st test count? What about Pant’s innings today? What exactly is a big match? What are easy runs? We don’t have pattas like Pakistan nowadays, when did we have a 600-700 score last time??
