They got the source wrong, that's an elementary detail. It's a lie than a simple mistake. Asaram was not mentioned in NCERT textbooks but Rajasthan School textbooks published by Gurukul Education Books . The publishers themselves have admitted :One would have to wonder the calibre of the editing at the newspaper when such simple facts are not checked. Hindu has allowed the Principal Spokesperson of the Government of India & Director General of Press Information Bureau (PIB) to give their clarification and the Hindu has published it.
