Vijay Shankar is a powerful hitter of the ball.  Can hit big 6s off  pacers.  Those who think otherwise have not watched him bat this season.

Yea they have actually come here watching one inning(which was played acc to situation and it shows his maturity and versatility ) and searching his stats on net .

Neither they have seen dhoni bat at 5 or 6 , even at his peek he took around 15 balls to change his gears mostly

He is but very much in the mould of JP Duminy, Manish Pandey or Hooda. He is not one of those who can consistently hit of pacers. Hope to be wrong but that is what it looks like. If its in the arc he will hit it but the arc is not as extended as it is for some great hitters of pace like Yuvraj, Maxwell, Stokes etc.

A lot of people have flaked us for hyping talents .........well 1st we never hype. We spot and get excited and thats the least we can do as we are not in selection committee .

We have been getting excited about few of talents in the recent time and most have come good this IPL.....

I guess only Rahul tripathi was the one who was on No one's radar , as to earlier season were many unknown talent to us use to surprise us

Batting talent- Pant, Kishen, Rana have been highly spoken and they came good

All rounder- Shankar who impressed all

Bowling- thampi, siraj, nathu, sanghwan, avesh , rajpoot ,Aniket all have been highly talked about and all have done well . Even a spinner like kuldeep who we have been highly pushing for almost a yr.

Even Rahul Chahar showed the glimpse of his bowling n fielding

Few who failed- Hooda, Vishnu(only for t20)

Who were not given a chance- Sayan ghosh, jaggi, kulwant, Navdeep , M ashwin , K gowtham, (Sandeep, rahul shukla werent picked at auction)

I hope these also do happen in Semi finals n finals  - kulwant gets a chance , Rajpoot gets to play further games ,  Jaggi to

All n All very satisfying IPL ......we can all pat our backs :cheer::cheer:

MSK talking about identifying 15 bowlers who all bowl above 140K

Aniket, nathu n thampi called to train with national squad......

These are signs that we are on right track

Very promising start for most of the youngsters.

Most of the young fast bowlers have impressed.MI should have given some games to Kulwant.

Rohit was afraid that that Kumble would call Khejroliya to the Team India nets if he impresses in the IPL  and Rohit would have to practice against his pace every day.   :p:

I suspect Virat ' talent spotting skills. How he could not spot Avesh Khan while bowling in the nets .How he didn't gave him any games & only gave him a game when there were no fit players to play in the playing 11.

I think he is asking the selector to select a retired players instead of taking risks of playing youngsters.

How Rohit can select Vinay & ignore Kejoroliya for the full tournament.

It is really sad Kejoroliya didn't get a single game

Kohli ignores Avesh

Rohit ignores Nathu n kulwant

Gambhir has given less games to kuldeep, rajpoot then what they deserved , Even sayan ghosh didnt get a game

Dhoni aise hi itna badnaam, paani men to sab utne hi hai

Had dhoni led RCB this IPL instead of Kohli, neither Aniket nor Avesh would have ever got chance. Harshal, Arvind would be the Indian pace bowlers till the end. :giggle:

Rohit did not ignore Nathu. Nathu was injure last seasond. This year MI's bowling was spot on. Too much of competition for rookie to get into playing eleven. The one match they decided to test bench strength they give chance to Vinay Kumar and for this totally blame Rohit. But overall it cannot be said he ignored Kulwant but he should have at least last three matches for bench strength.

The same thing happened with KKR. Lots of option for Gambhir in bowling. If you feel rookies should get straightaway a game in IPL then that is not how it works.

Gujarat started with dadaji but then slowly also played thampi,Sanghwan,Nathu etc. This happened because competition was not that great for this rookies to get into playing eleven.
