The match against South Africa is a virtual quarter final .

 

If we win it we are through as table toppers but if we lose then we are knocked out .So the scenario is simple.

 

So what should be the team ?

 

I would bring in Shami for Umesh and Ashwin for Bumrah.

 

Bumrah seems off colour and Shami and Bhuvi can cover death overs .

 

Also SA played the Pakistan spinners horribly so would go in with 2 spinners .

Tbf to him he hardly had a hit so far.Did a decent job today .

 

The problem for me with him is his poor fielding .

 

In 2013 we were the best fielding side in the tournament.Now we are moving towards the 90s

Hope RSA bat first and score 450. We need a repeat of Wankhade 2015 so that those concerned get a first hand experience of what modern ODI cricket looks like. Perhaps one such kick in the face when millions will be watching, in a crunch game of a major ICC tourney will knock some sense into our maharathis/coaches/BCCI/experts.

Agreed but I don't see him last against Rabada/Morkel if the pitch is not a total pan cake...His fielding is poor and why is he even asked to bowl?

I actually think he should have been bowled earlier before Jadeja .

 

His action is wierd and kinda slingy and hard to pick initially.So would have been tricky prospect for them.

Unfortunately when he came in they were already well settled and didn't need any risks against him.
