express bowling Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 Basil Thampi has picked up 4 wickets from 2 A-team List A matches. Low ER of 3.9 in the series. He is a yorker specialist who bowls at good pace and gets late dip ..... and can be a great back-up for Bumrah Laaloo 1

express bowling Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 So, we have no proper reserve players for 1) Middle-order batters for outside-Asia test matches 2) Pacer-all-rounder in tests 3) High SR batters-allrounders/ finishers who will bat at No.6 and No.7 in ODIs. K.Gowtham has the potential to be 3) above Looks like a big hitter here http://www.hotstar.com/sports/cricket/series/gowthams-quickfire-147-vs-assam/2001604248 And frontline spinner http://www.hotstar.com/sports/cricket/series/gowtham-shines-with-420/2001604174 He picked up 4 wickets in an unofficial test on our A tour to SA.
Vk1 Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Can Washington Sundar claim a place in LOI squads? He bowled pretty tightly against international batsmen in ipl. If he continues to do this well,I wouldn't mind slotting him at 4.. a left hander to start with.. contributes with the ball, probably a decent fielder. express bowling 1

express bowling Posted December 9, 2017 Author Posted December 9, 2017 Some good quality back-ups have been introduced Vijay Shankar -- seamer- batting allrounder in test matches ..... should have been introduced in LOIs too. Washington Sunder -- batting allrounder-spinner in ODIs. Rohit Sharma has been designated as the backup middle order test batsman .... fair enough as of today. Like Siraj and Thampi as backup LOI pacers Don't like Kaul and Unadkat as backup LOI seamers. Is Krunal still injured ? Mosher 1
express bowling Posted December 9, 2017 Author Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) Shreyas Gopal scored 150 in Ranji quarter-final. He is a frontline leg spinner and decent batsman. Another allrounder candidate. Really liked his bowling in Duleep Trophy 2016. Edited December 9, 2017 by express bowling Mosher 1

Scored a 100 in the Deodhar Trophy and looks like a player with a cool head on his shoulders. Looks to build his innings in 4-day games. Edited December 9, 2017 by express bowling Mosher 1

express bowling Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 (edited) Kedar Jadhav is injured and is replaced by Iyer. I like Iyer as an ODI prospect and am happy he is playing. BUT a batting all-rounder is being replaced by a pure batsman. Hardik can't be depended upon to bowl 10 overs every match ... and Kedar chips in with a few overs too. Why don't we have any batting all-rounders as backup to cover for Hardik and Kedar ? Need to bring in Vijay Shankar and Krunal Pandya in the LOI squads. Nitish Rana and Deepak Hooda are the other 2 options. Edited February 10, 2018 by express bowling Mosher 1
rkt.india Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 I would like Vijay Shankar as he is a proper batsman who bowls seam up.

You need a very capable bat 7. It's quite far fetch fetched this point. No team will take this risk to put them at 7. We don't know whether they are even as good as BK with the bat. As I clearly said in my post ... grooming them for a future date. Not talking about today. Pandya is not working out as the 3rd seamer when playing outside Asia... and a solution needs to be found.
