Muloghonto
5 hours ago, someone said: https://swarajyamag.com/ideas/scs-3-2-triple-talaq-verdict-deserves-two-and-a-half-cheers-not-three Worth reading in full. this does not so much as set a dangerous precedent- IMO, the ruling is perfectly fine and logical. It however, exposes the fatal flaw of India's version of secularism, which is not seperation of religion and state, but a clear goal of 'equal platform to all religions, till it fatally interferes with the state' mentality. Judges are expected to make judgement on basis of constitution. if constitution says 'refer to religion for act (marriage) defined by said religion', then the judges have to do exactly that and 'put religion on test'. We need to change the focus of Indian secularism, from trying to appease everyone (which in real world ends up being appeasing the minorities and snipping off majoritarian views), to a complete 'cut' of state acknowledgement of religion in any practical capacity, bar the holidays. mishra and rkt.india

someone
This issue really fundamentally defines our secularism and our problems. They doesn't care if it's Modi or not Modi in power, it's all about veto power. So even when Modi is in power, the "ecosystem" provides them with that "veto" power, and thus they can misuse law and governance. They don't vote for Congress because of Rahul Gandhi or development, but only for "veto" power, and ability to take "hostage" And despite court verdict, Modi can't pass the law, so how will they build Ram Mandir even "IF" the courts pass some favorable verdict?
