PBN Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Thing is this last incident even with quotes would have lead to site going down ..I know its rare but why take risk ? Basically, you guys need to add a 'contact us' link in the menu and share the email amongst the admins/mods. The incoming messages could also be posted directly in the mod forum along via the form or monitored via email. Furthermore, add a disclaimer indicating that ICF would co-operate in taking down copyright infringed material and that they send their details via the contact us form. In this case, I suppose the email wasn't actively checked and there was inaction from ICF so hence the author filed for copyright infringement. I guess this is quite a rare thing and doubt major sites like CI or other major websites would have an issue or care. And it would have been avoided if someone was actively checking the contact email.

Remember the DMCA notice came to you because ICF back linked to an article from a certain website which in turn hosted copyrighted content. We should stop linking to such content from websites - you will go down with them too.

We should stop linking to such content from websites - you will go down with them too. do you expect people to find source and then post ? :giggle: in this case the person who wanted that link down did contact icf but lets say information was outdated so when he could not get hold of anyone who just took server down . so what type of sites are ok to post ? news site are fine ?

No - but avoid "news sites" which are dubious. Just send me a PM and I will tell you what I meant here. In this case, ICF got caught in crossfire TBH.

Kalia_Test Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 My personal opinion and others can pitch in if they feel the same way New mods seem to be over eager to show their presence and are merging threads randomly and a bit prematurely. Example - Obama makes a comment on how Gandhiji would be shocked at something and it is merged with Obama visit thread. I fail to understand how it is related as he went back and probably would have made the comment even if he had not visited India. My suggestion/feedback : Please allow 2-3 days atleast for a new thread to attract people there and once the replies are thinning, then use your discretion to merge. No offense intended - all are doing good job otherwise :two_thumbs_up:
