rkt.india
Rahul needs to adjust and eye for middle order spot and not opening as there are no openings there. He will be better than Pandey at #4 in the long run. failure in 2-3 matches and he has been discarded. Edited October 18, 2017 by rkt.india Link to comment

Yes And Rahul's ability to hit big sixes is needed in the middle-order .... with Pandya being the only 6 hitter from 4 to 7. speedheat 1 Link to comment

If selections were only number based, you didn't need selectors. They need to show some vision and right idea. If they had put him the middle order, he should have at least been given 2-3 series before dropping that idea. Link to comment

I had read in an article that Shastri wants Pandey at 4 Look at what is happening as a result .... Pandya is being sent at 4 to have firepower at 4 .... and this is resulting in consolidator at 7 .... limited hitting powerr from 5 to 7 Link to comment

Silva
Lokesh has 46 ball century in international cricket and is one of the few indian batsman to finish an IPL season with a strike rate of 145+ plus has already established himself as one of the best test openers in the world after playing less than 20 tests. IMO this type of talent deserves an extended run as an opener across 3 formats. I actually think Dhawan would be just as good in the middle order at number 4 because a bit like kohli he scores more runs through finding the gaps where as rohit and LK need to open because they like to go over the top. speedheat
Not a single six hitter in the middle order except for pandya is criminal in this era of t20s,we need him in the middle order more then the opening slot. express bowling and Mosher 1 1 Link to comment

Vijy
Rahul has to play at 4 (or at 3). He is the most suited there. No.4 needs to also consolidate if early wickets fall, and KLR has the ability to do so. Link to comment
