We have seen far nasty pitches at Perth with cracks wide like rivers.

Yes, pitch is actually hard to play but if Shami can score 20 runs then others in South Africa team can also.

Ther is awkward bounce but runs can be scored here as Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed too while batting with Rahane.

We were so robbed of that momentum. We had them by the scruff but those incompetent umpires forced us to release the hold as soon as Saffers were suffocating.

Elgar withering in pain felt so unnatural. I feel he was in pain initially but kept rubbing his forehead and acting all shaken for longer time than required.

Either ways, I wouldn't go so far as to call Saffers cowards. They did what anyone would have done when offered the option to walk away.

But this event should be investigated irrespective of the match outcome. Why did the umpires decide to call the day off when the ball did not misbehave?

Elgar was stunned by the blow and he is justified to feel so, but I do not think he was concussed. Usually in a concussion, initially one does not know what the hell is going on around them for a few seconds. Elgar got hit and immediately had the reflex action and the sense to take his helmet off.

" 9.50 am The umpires, Faf du Plessis and Ottis Gibson have converged on the pitch. And slowly, they start dispersing. Hmmm... Not sure what all that is about, but remember, the first ball is meant to be happening in 10 minutes. Riiiiight, we have news that the start has been delayed and that there will be an inspection of the pitch at 10.30 am "
