Tajinder will be worth a try as backup for all-rounder injury. Looking at RR squad, don't you think the specialist batsman backup needs to be looked at during transfer window ?

actually rahane, tripathi n samson take top 3

butler n stokes can bat at 4 n 5, making them bat lower will be waste

so get someone like tejinder who is a power hitter at 6 n then have gowtham n archer in lower order

That makes a very lethal combo, it also allows u to replace klassen with someone like sodhi....so now u have added more strength to ur bowling.

At the end bowling wins u most games

I guess the following 11 could work:

Buttler / ....

Rahane

Samson

Stokes

Gowtham

Binny / Lomror

Archer

Gopal

Sodhi

Kulkarni

Udadkat

A bowlers/AR heavy side but those are probably the best bets at the moment

Think Short experiment is over and they have dumped him for this season at atleast. Butler as opener has not worked when MI tried him last year. The best way was Rahane improve his strike rate to exploit power plays. But he just relies so much on timing, that if he doesn't times he doesn't clears ropes. Rahane is a problem as well imo . Okay for chasing 140 odd but tough to chase big scores with the SR he plays at.

To partner Rahane, could someone like Binny be tried as an opener to get things moving quickly :dontknow:

Think they trusted Tripathi a lot on basis of last IPL. Probably they will learn they have to go for a prolific T20 opener and work upon it in next auctions.

Such a poor squad selection by RR. Udnakat 11cr is their biggest mistake. They have zero bowling, or really geniune wicket takers. Similarly, lack any batting firepower. No wonder they take least wickets and they score the lowest in PP.

Finally it seems RR have realized the tuk tuking of Rahane isn't winning them matches, instead it is just adding runs in his kitty for a SR unacceptable nowadays.

Butler will will win matches on his own.

The way he ripped off Avesh Khan's bowling was wonderful to see. He just didn't allow him to settle into any rhythm. The more fast he bowled the more far he tonked him. When he tried slower balls, he still tonked him.

Short is disappointing. He takes 20 balls to start striking over 100 runs. He covered it but the balls he wasted cost RR the match. Should be dropped for what he did yesterday. No use pacing it later. In T20 it's ridiculous to bat run a ball in first 20 balls especially when rain is aroun and team just has to survive 18 overs.

Even Rahane in his mind knows that his limited technique is not suited for LOIs. It's just the false perception that Sunil Gavaskar and co from Mumbai lobby have created it around him.
