Kohli And Shastri Have This Special Vardhan Of Being Able To Get The Playing XI Wrong For Almost Every Game

Recommended Posts

107 is by far a poor total . Even 11 tail enders combined can score much more than this ..... look at Shami ... he scored 10 of just 3 balls.what is needed is 6 multi dimensional  batsmen who always play positively & confidently. Unfortunately no one in this batting line up apart from Kohli  meets all these criteria. No wonder he is 'the best batsman' in the world and all others in the line up way poorer when compared to him.  In by gone era there were 4 - SRT,Ganguly,Dravid, Sehwag who formed the nucleus of both tests and one dayers.

Laxman,Yuvraj,Kaif,Raina,Dhoni,Gambhir all supported them at some moment or the other. Now their is no such  nucleus.

Only 1 Virat and he is playing so confidently  in all 3 formats and almost every where. But others?????????  This is the result of getting satisfied with a set of mediocre batsmen who are not at all multi dimensional. Talented youngsters are never given enough  chances

in dead rubbers, home conditions , against lower ranked teams etc etc.

But why Jadeja? He never gave us any indication in the previous tours that he will succeed on these conditions as a bowler and taking wickets is his primary role not scoring runs. Shouldn't be better off investing in a specialist batsman or a bowler?

If I were the captain, I would choose 3 specialist pacers and Ashwin in the conditions that were prevailing in Lords.

But, if the team management really wanted to play 2 spinners then the only way to do so, while playing 3 front-line pacers, is by playing Jadeja in place of Pandya

107 is a joke total, a par score yesterday would have been 100/5 in 34 overs, no way can we comeback from that trainwreck of a batting show. Won't excuse the batsmen because this isn't one off, they are failing continuously which indicates that they aren't equipped to fight it out in tough conditions. Pakistani batsmen show better application in these conditions, that sums up our present level.

Today sun may be out which will make conditions easier, and we are without Bhuvi-Bumrah...spinners will find it tough going. Team selection is flawed and catchers/WK pe koi bharosa nahi ha. No matter what happens bowlers aren't the ones who will cost us this match. You will be hard pressed to find instances where teams have come back to win after being shot down for 100 odd runs on day 1...and that covers the entire 100+ years of test history.

I did not say 107 is a par score. It's below par. 150 would have been just par. 200 a good score. But the point I am making is you need to outbowl opposition's in England which is precisely what Pakistan did. Pakistan also got a bit better conditions for batting than what we faced yesterday.Indian bowlers don't maintain intensity over the entire innings and just bowl well in patches.Indian bowlers will take wickets here too but not before their fair share of indiscipline and free runs on offer. In short, they are not relentless.

this loss purely on kohli and shastri.

kuldeep a huge luxury . miss buvi and bumrah a lot here. if they were there the bowling would be shami, bhuvi, bumrah, ishant and ashwin.

i want england to score a 400 here and india to be bowled out fr 80 runs and lose by innings and 200 runs.. at least the heat will step up on shastri, kohlis captaincy and the other free riders.

Pandya defended India’s decision to play with an additional spinner, Kuldeep Yadav alongside R Ashwin, instead of an ideal choice of going with three specialist seamers. “Obviously they (team management) had some thought behind it (picking the second spinner). I don’t get into that too much. I think three pacers (including him) were enough to be honest. We did enough and we bowled properly. We gave whatever we had to give. As I told you, today’s wicket was the wicket we expected and it was a proper call.”

Ashwin and Kuldeep could barely do much on the third day and Pandya rued that the ball is not gripping much due to the rain. “If this was a five-day game, spinners would’ve come into use. But because of the rain and everything, it was short and there’s not many footmarks and it was not gripping that much. If this was a five-day game, things would have been different,” Pandya said.

While I understand that IPL is completely different from TEST CRICKET and Kohli is a massive upgrade as captain as far as compared to Dhoni but his tactics are baffling and it resembles RCB.

Even in RCB he asked Jennings to be removed and got a poor and non existent coach like Vettori with 0 powers the results are in front of everybody. For India he has a cheerleader and in SENA things are looking no different as far as batting goes heavily reliant on one or two individuals and then there is a long list of tail falling like nine pins.
