NO at this moment . Yeah he's struggling in the A series. But we don't have any batting all-rounders besides those two. Jadhav don't look like an athlete to me and he's old. He is not the answer.

Likes of Ashwin and Bhuvi won’t go at 130-40 strike rates even though are capable batsmen Which could have been avoided if the bowlers did their primary jobs of taking wickets.
Stan AF Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 We have 2 may be three regular wicket takers in ODIs. Bumrah, Kuldeep and to a certain extent Bhuvi. Bhuvi for all his exploits lags a lot behind Bumrah in wicket taking, IMO. Chahal extracts good spin but he has to still work on bowling tighter lines and not giving freebies. What BCCI needs to do is fortify the bowling department with more strike bowlers who are capabale of taking wickets at regular intervals. Or else KISS the next World CUP, Goodbye.
paddles Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Too early to say for KP for WC '19 but he is worth.I am also impressed with Jalal saxsena.still long way to go for new seasons.

I am not sure about Krunal's batting as he looks more suited for T20s. Nitish Rana or Deepak Hooda, depending on the form, should get a look into. Even k Gotham looks good not sure about odi though. But guy have fighting spirit, only thing lacking is winning mentality and he ll be all set for selection.

Yes, for Tests and T20s bowling all-rounders are needed cause you will be looking to take wickets. But in ODIs, you need batsmen to stay till 50 overs, hence batting all-rounders are preferred. raki05 1
prasen82 Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 With pitches being flat for WC, any bowler is going to get tonked. We would need a squad like england consisting of batting all rounders . 5 solid batsman 2 batting all rounders with decent bowling stats 1 bowling allrounder 3 good bowlers. I don't think bhuvi or ashwin or jadeja will fall into batting allrounder category. One is hardik and other we need to find out. Bowling all rounder should have strike rate above 120. And i am not confident of bhuvi here. Shreyas gopal or krunal could fit here. Or maybe nagarkoti. Batsman are kl rahul,Dhawan, kohli, rohit, DK/Dhoni Hardik *open batting a/r* - only jadhav fits bill. Krunal/nagarkoti/shreyas Kuldeep/ashwin/jadeja/chahal Bhuvi/Prasiddh/Khaleel Bumrah
