Standings in Tournament OK Guys, let's have a look at the leaderboard. Aussies on top with 17 points, India with 8, Lanka with 6. Aussies have gone 1-1-1 against India, gaining 7 points. Aussies have gone 2-0 against Lanka, gaining 10 points India has gone 1-1-1 agains Aussies, gaining 6 points India has gone 0-1-1 against Lanka, gaining 2 points Lanka has gone 0-2 against Aus gaining 0 points Lanka has gone 1-0-1 against IND gaining 6 points. This means that the Aussies have 1 more game to play against India, and 2 more to play against Sri Lanka. Seeing that they're at the top of the table by 9 points (equivalent to two wins with bonus point), they will pretty much make the finals. Which makes Tuesday's encounter the most crucial match in the CB series. If we can pull off a win, we will pull away against Sri Lanka with a margin of 6 points. The other plus point is that even if they DO win, we will still be in touching distance. If both teams lose to Australia, the last game with the Sri Lankans could be a do or die encounter to enter the finals. Simply put, for Lanka to qualify to the finals, it needs to beat India in both games and hope Australia beats India too.

Aussies can play spoilsport and piss on India's chances, by losing the last match to SL and get SL in to the finals. This can happen if India lose both their remaining matches. I can see them do it because they would rather face SL than India in the finals.

ptou5.gif Still a lot of cricket to be played. No team is through yet.
looks like my dream of no Aussies in the final will be ruined because for that to happen Lanka has to beat India as well! India needs one win in two matches, with SRL losing just one match, and it will be an Aussie-India final. Which is good too...perfect opportunity to win under pressure in Australia
