So decide what you really care about? The fact that leech Shastri is made Coach or calling Sachin shameful? The discussion wasn't whether Sachin is shameful or not. You said Sachin lobbied for Shastri which does not seem to be case actually. Kohli was so gung ho about Shastri. He was clearly not going to stop till he gets Shastri. Sachin is a meek personality and will always try to find easier solutions. It was quite easy to give kohli what he wants than create more drama by taking a principled stand and not allowing good for nothing Shastri.

Idiots are those who entrust him any sort of responsibilities which requires even a bit of spine. Leave Sachin alone from any kind of decisions which requires gut.

If it wasn't for Tendulkar, Shastri wouldn't have been selected. He played a major role in appointing him. I am questioning his intentions here, forget about his status. If he wasn't up for the job, then maybe he shouldnt have taken it in the first place. Maybe he saw an opportunity to push for his son's case, by appointing Shastri here. A win-win situation for both Tendulkar and Kohli. He is as despicable as anyone, and that should be highlighted.

Tendulkar did not have the best interests of India when he went to bat for Shastri. This crook had other motives, perhaps like poster above said get his son to Indian team via Shastri. Anyone who cares about Indian cricket and what's best would not support Shastri like Tendulkar shamelessly did. Asking Shastri to apply while he was in Bangkok vacation and do interview over phone is extremely suspect.

Sachin played a major role in appointing Shastri just as a contract killer does for his master. The problem is you are shifting the blame from Kohli, the main killer, to Sachin, the contract killer. At the end of the day contract killer does the wrong thing too. However I don't think Sachin's fees should be Arjun's selection. Way too wild conspiracy theory.

So now Kohli is Sachin's master?

How meek can he get? So he had no choice but to surrender because everybody stamped their authority on his ass?

It's not just about being meek. There was a lot of drama going on at that time. Loads of things written in support of or against both Kohli and kumble. Kohli was definitely not happy with kumble. So Sachin may feel it's best of interest to give kohli what he wants to avoid even more circus in future. Being a player he will always be in favour of giving players what they want and make them comfortable. Indian Captains always get what they want. If captain doesn't like commentator, he can even throw him out of job as recently witnessed. Right or wrong that's the way it works nowadays. If you want these superstars to put them in their limits then you need someone who is very very popular among masses, respected amongst public, cricket administration and media circles and at the same time having the guts to enforce what players need rather than what they want. Ganguly is the only one who comes close to it.

So he was not fit for the job then? Did he came to know about it after he made the decision or he knew all along and still went for Shastri? Shouldn't he have just shut up and sit tight at home and let others handled the job?
