Dhoni v Rahim - who has been better wk-batsman in tests?

Recommended Posts

I think Ben Foakes is probably the best wicket-keeper in international cricket at the moment - no wonder, seeing that he is from the Essex school that also brought forth James Foster (Ben Foakes switched counties because Foster was #1 keeper in all of England). It is just rare to see actual wicketkeepers nowadays, as opposed to batsmen who found keeping gloves lying around at the bottom of their kitbag. Thankfully, his batting clicked in his first few matches, which should get him a longer run ...

No. ATG does not mean significantly better or standing out from peers.  SRT and Dravid both are ATGs and they dont have to be standing out from each other. Why are you taking Sanga's name who only kept wickets in 48 tests? Even Sanga padded his his stats on flat SL pitches as a batsman. Regarding others, Gilchrist is an ATG.  same we can say about Flower but his keeping was atrocious.  he was more of a batsman who was made to keep.

Same with Stewart. A pretty good batsman and a very average keeper. He was okay against fast men, but against spinners, he couldn't collect well at all. Cost Tufnell quite a lot of wickets.
