Point is in the world level India can still not get close to gold or be in the finals in many of these divisions, but are Asian champions legitimately - its just that some african nations have this single sport division dominance and Arabs are poaching some talent in those sports and picking up gold - very targeted Asiad moves. Just games sport ministries play.

How old was he when he was given a club cricket contract and a stipend to play cricket in England?

Its no big deal.  Legally, Jofra has the right to pursue greater compensation and opportunity for himself.  Just like ECB is within its rights to deploy its financial strength to recruit talent.  But let's call a spade a *ing spade.  ECB rolled out the red carpet for him right from the get-go, because he's a stud prospect.  Its eminently self-serving, and creates problems for smaller weaker teams like WI, ZIM, even NZ.  SA isn't far behind either.  You can choose to stay in denial and delusion.  It would be as self-serving as ECB's rule change to "bring it in line with ICC regulations".

btw, Is Sussex Cricket in the habit of picking up Injury tabs, paying for residential and other expenses etc for a lot of 19 year old cricketers?
