An MBA can do better man management than Shastri. Let us just get someone from IIM Ahmedabad and let them do it. and we are winning without any skill development . Yes an cricketers wud listen to an MBA.....Man management cannot happen if others are not willing to listen and why wud they listen to an MBA

Have specialists with no more than 2 bits and pieces cricketer in playing 11 to win WC. pandya is a specialist hitter in the team and thats a specialist job in modern cricket ...... Kedar is not bits and pieces either

putrevus Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 If team has five good batsmen plus keeper who can hit, they don't need guys like Pandya.India should be giving chances to Gill who may cement his spot at no4 and Pant at no 6 suddenly the team is not bad at all.Pandya or Shankar may not be needed at all. They can be in the squad but important matches play five bowlers.

India's best bet is play five bowlers and five batsmen with keeper who can hit. Will that happen I don't think so.

Pandya at best is a bits 'n pieces player. He can't finish his quota nor does he fit purely as a batsman. If we select him, we need Jadhav or another batsman finishing up the quota of 10 overs. Pandya can easily fit in as a batsman in this team. when he got the chance bat up the order in top 6, he became MOS and was IIRC the 2nd top run getter for us but his job in this team is different and that is to bat at 7 because this team has plenty who can bat in top 5 but none to bat at 6-7 and do the hitting job and score quickly when needed. Moreover, every player has a role to play. You cannot judge and compare Pandya to some batting in top order. He averages 30 in ODIs with an SR of 114. Even Stokes who bats in top 6 averages just 36 in ODIs with an SR of 94. In bowling, Stokes averages 41 with the ball, worse than Pandya and takes less than 1 wicket per game and ER over 6, both worse than Pandya. Pandya is as good or even better than Stokes in some aspects in ODIs.

India is not every other team.Indian team is constructed very differently with specialist players except Dhoni and Jadhav. Jadhav is very good batsman who is perfect for no 6.
flamy Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 With the way Shami is bowling, they might consider dropping Shankar for actual bowler. If only they can drop Rayudu and bring in Gill.

If 4 bowlers cnt do the job ....5 wudnt either most days

Pandya has not shown any ability to hit fast bowling which he will face when playing in England. You want to carry a player who has hit 50 over 2 years ago and let him stink up bowling. India is better off playing a very good bowler who will take wickets every match and keep other team from scoring.

All teams have weak 5th bowlers. if your top 4 bowlers are good, you dont need a specialist 5th bowler, especially when you specialist 5th bowler is averaging 36.
