In this history of the world lands have been bought and sold.

In 1867, US purchased giant sized Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million in that days currency.

Pakistan is perpetually begging. CPEC investment  of 40 billion dollars is all China loans.

Can India pay off the Pak ruling establishment and deep state for a sum total of 70-80 billion dollars to vacate FULL PoK without war  under the aegis of UN?

For the corrupt in Pak - both military and political elite this is a great deal.  It will bring several decades of relief for Pak if the money is properly utilized.

We should not think of it as paying money to get back our own land - this is smart thinking.

China is the real enemy. Once PoK is integrated back with India. CPEC is history.

Kashmir problem is solved.

The direct and indirect cost of the to fight insurgency in Kashmir to fight militancy over the last 30 years - has been a hell lot more than 70-80 billion dollars in today's currency.

I think this is the smartest solution -Pak is for sale, always has been

Who would you pay the money to? The Pakistani generals would use that dough to fund terrorism forever. Besides if you buy POK, you are also buying the headaches that come with it.

Interesting idea.

How did you zero in on the 70-80 billion USD valuation? The very fact that CPEC passes through POK means that the costs (and thereby the stakes) are raised exponentially. We would have to pay off China too.

Why the insistence on cash? Our entire forex reserve would be in the range of 350-400 bn USD.

Whichever politician or General will do this there will mass uprising against them. They all will be hanged or shot. The new Govt will declare the deal null in Pak.
