Those are blaming other factors besides stubble burning, then why air quality was much better in last year when GOI  punished these farmers.

I somewhat understand it. In TN, there is a day before Pongal called Bhogi were old items to be discarded are burnt. Not sure if crop waste were burnt. It created a smog situation last January where flights were delayed on that day. We had a decade of public awareness of not burning old items for bhogi. As a result, there has been less burning over the years. But still some idiots do it

Looks like Haryana and West UP have controlled the stubble burning problem, but Punjab refuses to act....i lived in Gurgaon for few years till recently, and know that govt there made a lot of farm equipment for stubble removal available on rent at cheap rates and ran a publicity campaign on FM radio etc for the same. Pampering of rich and middle class farmers needs to end, but trouble is that these folks control a big chunk of rural vote, including labor working on their fields....some of the pains of democracy, and as the saying goes - we deserve the government's we get.

In the 3rd week of September AQI in Delhi was 34 ,better than Paris.

If you are one of those who thinks AQI in Delhi remains 500+ everyday and its 24*7 gas chamber then God help you!

Its normally less than 150 except October-novemeber period

Im not saying it stays this bad throughout the year. But admit it. Delhi is one of the top cities when it comes to air pollution. Check this link. Doesn't have Paris in it.

Yes off course ,Delhi is one of the worst cities in terms of pollution, no doubt .But normally I.e more than 2/3rd of the year ,its not bad
