jf1gp_1 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Just stepped out in the open for a few mins , its absolutely disgusting. Indoor with air purifiers one doesnt realize how bad it is outside. Delhi today must be pretty close to one of those nazi extermination camps. I know our players will go out and play in the name of national pride but asking to much of BD players and all the fans who would be in the stadium. Todays game has to be cancelled, ticket holders should be issued refund and reason for cancelling should be collective failure of Indian PM, CM of Delhi and Punjab. saik 1
New guy Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Are Delhites not worried about their health, their families and kids and older relatives? How can they not do anything, not protest? Its their land and their air. Will they abandon Delhi during this time?

Norman Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Can anyone living in Delhi tell me how the situation got this worse ? Is it factories or too many vehicles or some other reason ?

Due to bad weather, warm day temperatures, cool night temperatures, lack of northerlies pollutants get stuck in the lower atmosphere and don't move away. Aqi was quite good in September but as soon night temperatures decreased, it started worsening. Two back to back cyclones in Arabian sea made matters worse.

Govt needs to look at artificial rain. govt needs to sort out this burning stubble thing and encourage lesser use of motorized vehicles. Our govt has no plan for the future. They use today's data for their plans not forecasted data. And it takes five years to come up with a plan and five years to execute it. By that time, our cities will look like chernobyl. Chennai metro train project was started 10 years ago and still haven't completed yet. China builds brand new cities within months while our govt constructs its projects like Gavaskar or Shastri build their innings PS - Forgot to reply on the artificial rain thing. Our govt cannot do the simple things right. How are they going to do the artificial rain thing. They can look at sulfuric acid rain though. If we do the simple things, there won't be a need to play god. Govt needs to educate people from an early age not to pollute the environment. Edited November 3, 2019 by Real McCoy

beetle Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Things are better in the evening. It was breezy in the afternoon.
beetle Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) They should take away all subsidies and ration cards from these stubble burning farmers. Fine them heavily and help the ones who don't burn with removing the crop waste. Jai kisan...my foot! Send the drones up to take pictures. Edited November 3, 2019 by beetle sergio04 1
Khota Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Agreed it should be cancelled. These players are running etc and their oxygen demand during game situation is quiet high. Their intake of pollutants is much higher than others who are sitting on stands. On principle this game should be cancelled. Real McCoy 1
