Interestingly all our pacers from the 90s were tall bar agarkar. Srinath, prasad, ankola, kuruvile, Prashant vaidya, Ganesh, mohanty were all tall fellows. We on average had taller pacers than Pakistan, shorter height pacers is a bit of a recent trend in Indian cricket. Nehra, Zak, balaji, munaf, ishant all pretty tall Yep nehra 6'2. Ishant 6'5, munaf 6'3 and zak 6'1. Only sreesanth was shorter and he was 5'11 ish. Sreesanth Nehra Zak/munaf Say what you want, but it's an underrated pace attack for LoI. Won us 2 ICC titles. Sreeaath was quite quick 137-145. Nehra the same. Zak is a slow coach though. I feel we are overthinking this whole combo factor. Just play bumrah umran and one of shami or tyagi. Link to comment

Our LOI bowling is way too defensive. Bumrah bowls quite a few bouncers in certain matches and does not bowl any in others. I want him to bowls lots of bouncers in every match and every format. It is the best set up ball. And It is the most hostile delivery. Adi_91, Lone Wolf and Mosher 3 Link to comment

express bowling
There is no point in picking more than ONE short pacer in the playing 11. That too if that short pacer is really good like Shami of 2016 to 2020 OR really quick bowling 150 kph. Otherwise there is no point in picking a short specialist pacer. Badiani struggled. Dhanush Gowda second Highest wicket taker, haven't seen him yet. There is a lad Vijay Kumar who looks sharp but was wayward in a high scoring game. He picked 8 wickets. Ayush picked 9. Vasu Vats is a shoe in for sure. Didn't play all the games. Hangargekar was average. Badiani had below average to poor tournament Edited November 11, 2021 by rkt.india Link to comment

We are carrying Ishant for years just because he is tall. There is no dearth of tall bowlers if you see likes of Prasidh, kartik, Avesh, Khaleel, Arshdeep, Porel are all tall but we are still ready to punt on Umran and also fairly young. Badiani at this point is reminding me of Porel. If someone can bowl quick even if he is 5'10, it's fine. A tall bowler bowling medium pace isn't worth it, IMO. Link to comment

I am NOT not talking about selecting tall pacers ONLY. My preferred pacers are. ... Have wicket taking ability Plus Can bowl 145 kph+ ( or have that potential if he is U19 ) Plus Are 5'11" or more. Plus Are reasonably accurate P.S -- Can select pacers who are less than 5'11" if they can bowl 150 kph like Umran. Edited November 12, 2021 by express bowling raki05 1 Link to comment
