Its very tough to make into into the indian squad right right let alone the playing 11,you have to be clearly better than Umesh to make the 11 and i dont see even Saini getting in.

It's not about just current. Umesh, Ishant both are 31 plus and Umesh hasn't been great overseas.  So we do need their replacements ready as pacers get more injuries after 30.

And we are ignoring this area.

 

No new and good pacers introduced in tests in the last 4 years apart from Bumrah.

 

Not a single good pacer developed in ODIs in the last 3 years.

Not a single good pacer developed in ODIs in the last 3 years.

They did introduce Shardul who limped off on the first morning and not even an international potential class bowler. A bowler like Thakur was a good prospect for us in 2014 when we did not have better options but now we do and they still keep him in the queue giving him debut ahead of Siraj/Saini. Rajpoot is already out of the queue who is similar pace but taller and better.

Both Saini and Siraj are ready for tests.

 

But no good 140+ pacer has been groomed for ODIs.  Need to try Saini, Prasidh and Mavi.
