singhvivek141
CK Nayudu Trophy is going on, but neither cricinfo nor cricbuzz is capturing it. Not many known names I see, Mujtaba Yousuf and Purnank Tyagi are the 2 which I remember who are regarded as fast bowlers. Mujtaba Yousuf is hyped by J&K team for his pace, plus he's a left armer. Jaffer was a inch or more taller than dravid, around 185 cm, we think back and it feels stupid how chopra was played ahead of him all throughout 2003 and 2004, jaffer missed out on some easy pitches of Pakistan, he scored runs in wi, SA, eng, at home against Pak, thrashed akthar, Sohail tanvir, kaneria around, couple of failures in aus and he was dropped, imo better player than gambhir in tests speedracer 1 Link to comment

Hence just like Pujara he will eat up lot of balls but won't score much. I remember vs England, there was a test when likes of Bhajji and MSD came above Laxman to score quickly. Jaffer got a hundred but as soon as the message to accelerate came, he struggled and then lost his wicket. Also, IIRC he was predominantly a front foot player and had issues against short pitched deliveries. Link to comment

He had similar skill set to Ishant, probably needed to get a bit stronger, but he should have played ahead or picked ahead of Mithun for the sl series in 2010, this was about the same time when Abu nechim ahmed was doing well, dinda to should have played test cricket, parwinder Awana another, so tyagi, Awana, nechim, natu Singh, pankaj Singh, Kamran Khan all these potential international quality pacers were destroyed, we went with trundlers pk, Vinay, munaf. Yup, his inswingers are similar to Siraj's, deadly and accurate. His action is very similar to Kartik....they both run quick and take a good leap before loading into action. Kartik looks taller but Purnank's inswingers are a delight. I don't know why he's not yet picked in any of the IPL auction, him and Sushant Mishra are much better picks than likes of Baltej Singh. speedracer and Mosher 2 Link to comment
