Warrier showed a lot of initial promise. He has a nice action. I don't think he worked hard enough.

Warrier is another case of someone being picked too late. 3 - 4 years ago he looked a lot quicker but was ignored by selectors first and when he was picked for RCB for 2 seasons or so, was never given a game.

Porel is a good prospect. A tall, hit the deck, seam and bounce bowler with a knack of picking wickets. But he needs to add some more pace. Operating at around 125 k to 135 k won't be that effective in international cricket. He needs to be 132 k to 142 k at the very least. ... preferably 135 k to 145 k.

Warrier is a tallish, hit the deck, bounce bowler too. He was primarily a seam bowler ... but has been swinging the ball rather consistently in the last 12 months or so.  Pacewise ... he is fast-medium. Would be better if he gets a bit quicker.  But he is already 28 and still not playing for India. Debuting at 30 for a fast bowler means just 3 to 4 years of bowling at quick pace.

Warrier can be a good back up for Ishant. Very accurate, tall, similar pace, bowls the dangerous lines and swings the new ball. For me he looked more dangerous than Siraj in the unofficial test in WI.

Since Mavi is injured 4 day selection is not bad.

Mavi is playing in all ranji matches. He is not injured

No ... Shivam Mavi played in the first match and picked up 6 wickets. He is the Team India prospect.

His cousin, Shuvam Mavi, has played the next 2 games.
