his keeping is always average and he is not even compared to SAHA for his keeping, if he fails in batting then even god cant help him.

 

we all know of the talent this dude has but in cricket ..it's not just talent that matters.

This is no way a single under regular Test circumstances or unless batsmen have discussed in advance that they will be in LOI mode as far as singles and running between the wickets are concerned. It's a different thing that Pant might have made the ground had he started instantaneously but I can bet that very few will have that presence of mind by default ( maybe Kohli is the only one in this lineup) while playing a Test match unless it's predetermined between the two batsmen. Rahane himself likey would not have run if the roles were reversed. Rahane put himself under unnecessary pressure after playing slow and that's what prompted a more risky move on his part to get that single.

Defeatist borderline loser body language does not help either. Walks out to bat with a timid attitude which translates to a mediocre career a couple of good years.

he is way better than the overrated hacks in our batting lineup like rohit (clueless against moving ball) , rahul (looked getting out to any minute on aussie tour), shaw (typical sehwag batting style but doesnt have the same mental strength).

Some OTT hate against the guy - loser, bad body language? 

Even his biggest supporter will admit he hasn't performed as well as he shld hv in the 2nd leg of SENA tours given high standards set in first away cycle. But this much hate is unwarranted...batting at no. 5 u don't get too many chances to pile up big hundreds even in india, especially given the way we are rolling over opposition for innings wins these days. So if no. 5 gives 1 hundred, and couple more solid knocks in 3 test series, I am ok with that. And when did swagger become indicator of competence? Do Pujara, laxman, dravid too have timid/loser BL?

 

Rahane did just score 28% of runs on a tricky day 1 pitch in the first innings. He looked assured throughout, though he unnecessarily dug himself into a hole halfway thru his innings. Today morning, it looked like both he and pant came out with a positive mindset (rightly so), and for me, that single was on - it went deep enough to point, ajaz Patel is not known as a gun fielder. Not blaming pant, such things happen.

Agree rahane gets a lot of unnecessary flak.....he had 2 bad years so what even dravid had it and many top players did. 

He avg 70 last year so no point talking about his bad form now as its in past. 

Also its not easy for player who do well abroad to be consistent at that coz still they play in all diff condition every time. 

Surely he hasnt reached the heights he shud have had but his career isnt over yet.
