BCCI killing test cricket with these tracks

Cmon why are we getting happy, flattest track.. portraying lack of faith in the "mighty" tendalkar on bouncy wickets.. its not what imm saying, but non-indians will think that, after losing 2-1 aus, we did come out iwhgt some pride, which is going to be lost with the tracks out bcci prepare

I don't think BCCI produces these tracks, local associations do. Also, the underlying soil in the area plays a major role as well.

This has started after the initiative a few years back to revamp the pitches in India and make them more sporting. A few years back even though the tracks were a bit on the spin friendly side they would produce results. Over the last 2-3 seasons we have been seeing one patta after another in the pursuit of lively pitches and thousands of dollars paid to some pitch consultants from abroad.

Eggjacktly. Not even sure if the pursuit of lively pitches is an honest attempt! :angry_smile: Either get "lively pitches" or give us the spin pitches back. These pattas dont belong at Intl level. ICC needs to introduce some quality level of pitches at the International level. Madras used to be a good pitch, with something in it for everyone. But this is bad now. This pitch has nothing for medium pacers, little for spinners so far, and just patta.

common this same attack gave up 750 odds runs to sri lankans just for loss of 5 wickets , so was that track very flat, when south africans scored 540 everyone was saying how bad indians bowled and now when South African bowlers are battered by one man it has become a flat track, keep in mind other two batsmen who came to crease their SR was below 40. This knock was just pure genius with them bowling so negative still he scoring fricking 309 in 280 balls is just pure talent of this guy.

As much as I like Sehwag to score a 400, Rahul to make another 100 and Sachin to score yet another 100, the pitch is terrible for bowling. Pitch is good for putting up batting records but does dent the confidence of the bowlers. Not a good advertisement for test cricket.

Best chance would have been to rack up a 200 run lead, then chances of South Africa choking would have been really high. Now if they get a good opening stand and the lead is wiped out they'll be under no pressure.

You are acting like you have never seen a flat pitch before. The fact is that there was little time to prepare this pitch and so it has ended up dead. With Ishant back for the second Test (he has been declared fit), the BCCI should consciously look to make the next pitch slightly quicker. However, pitch preparation is not about throwing money at the pitch and getting the precise results you need, it is a tough science - sometimes it is just not possible to liven an Indian pitch.

After Australian Tour everyone in india hyped their fast bowlers making them more than what they were, this test match showed their caliber, agreed pitch was dead but bowling was dreadful and there was no control in their bowling and they looked lost and were bowling all over place , South Africans learnt their lesson and came back great today , and still Indian young fast bowlers were huffing and puffing after bowling three overs,Sreesanth with all his antics has to back it up on field. It is about time these kids learn to stop talking off the field and do something on field and show some commitment. It is easy for everyone to blame pitch but bowling with control is something they need to learn in india otherwise after kumble's departure winning in India will be a tough task for india .Let us wait and see what Ishant sharma can do on these tracks.Taking odd wicket here and there is one thing running thru a batting line up another thing.Steyn showed today his promise with his spell today.
