Srikkanth's square drive on one knee against Roberts was better IMO

- Tougher conditions

- WC final

- Bad start

- Against ATG WI, bowler Andy Roberts

- Tougher shot to execute and he found the sweet spot

- More audacious...ultimate signal of intent that we were going to take the fight to WI

 

Man the 83 and 85 titles were so sweet. As you said in your interview, we took the fight to superior teams in both those matches, compare that to the meekness we have displayed in all the big matches since 2014 WT20.

Everyone knows including that any decent cricketer would take that catch in that situation. After Richards was out, there was Dujon-Marshall p'ship as well which Amarnath broke. 

 

There are many key situations in the match including the wicket of Greenidge. 

 

Lower order batting by Madan Lal, Kiramni and Sandhu was useful as well. Without it Ind would not have posted a fighting score.

Fielding is more than just being acrobatic. Those stump outs and run outs are just as important a part of a wicket keepers KRA as catches.

Dhoni definitely is the more *aware* cricketer with a better sense of the game. Remember those run outs against BD when they needed 4 runs with 3 wickets. Won't you categorize those stumpings as good fielding?

 

Also Dhoni stands so close to the stumps that the batsmen are afraid to venture out for hits.Helped revive Bhajjis' career with his keeping.

 

@Gollum Saha is a great catcher. I said "relatively" lesser player than Dhoni. No disrespect intended there. He is contemporary of MSD and was a back up for most of his career. That's why the comparison.

Also, as many here have mentioned, Raina deserves a shout out.

From what I've heard even the Nawab of Pataudi was a great fielder. At least for the era he played in.
