He drifts on the pads because he has a killer booming outswinger that when pitches right is unplayable almost like a leg spinning delivery by Warne. So he used to get carried away. Also guys like him and Shami will keep coming at you and they don’t have too many variations. What they have is impeccable zip they get which hits the bat harder than what the speed guns show. That’s why they go for runs because the batsman gets a measure of them but eventually they will get one through or get that perfect jaffa. Shami is better than Umesh but both are same type of bowlers with Shami being more consistent while Umesh is marginally quicker.
