Those are not freebies. Every kid in the state has a laptop now to study. Free cycle, uniforms, mixie grinder , TV are all social justice measures.

People like you are the ones who think poor people are just lazy and if they work hard and they will get rich, conveniently forgetting the caste and class barrier.

Mr. SJW, Dont quote yourself as how I think. Keep to the topic, I think  that is the model for HDI and that the model for HDI can’t be emulated elsewhere. These Mai baap Govt sops will be upgraded for next election and the parties swap roles every election.

Don't know what the f maai baap is , stick to English. It can be emulated if the govt and the leaders have social justice as their agenda and not just economic development.

The handing out of laptops, grinders, mixies is just pre-election gimmickery. It started with the dravida parties. The last true leader of Tamil nadu was Kamarajar who didn't issue handouts to win elections and that was the reason why Tamils didn't go for him later on. Its the fault of Tamils as a whole because of their short term gains, they missed out on long term gains. I say as a whole because that's how a democracy operates. Minority opinion even if it serves the right purpose gets squashed by the loudmouthed majority. And with the national IQ of 85 or thereabouts, we will always be this way. This is how the nations destroyed after ww2 such as germany and japan are doing better than us because their average iq is better.

Nope I disagree this is a very privileged point of view. We cannot understand the major social shift that these laptops and grinders gave to the underprivileged. The last true leader argument is also false, all the Dravidian leaders right from Anna to JJ have done their part in lifting the state, with their own set of faults. The Dravidian agenda is arguably the best in the country.

Pray, tell us, how does it best serve the country? Pitting others as Aryans and developing a failed and false Dravidian identity developed by a British missionary Caldwell, how is it best in the country? BTW, Mai Baap Sarkaar maane, Welfare State! Stop your Hindi hate. I know most urbans from TN know Hindi.

I am from Chennai , the most urban area from TN. I don't know Hindi . We don't hate Hindi , we just  don't give a rat's ass about it. We thrive here without Hindi, why should we learn it?

Dravidian identity is different from the agenda. By agenda I mean the Dravidian ideology over the last 50 which has given proper social justice measures breaking the caste barrier. If you want proof, Google it and burn seeing TN at top five in literally every development index in India

So, you will live in Chennai throughout your life? Go talk in Tamil when you travel to Delhi, even English will not work. This sort of eggheadness will not be good for your mental state, learning a new language is a matter of your overall growth, you guys have made it an ego issue. Stay in your well. Good luck.

But, the agenda is toxic, and you have social issues with people pitting one against the other. Why should I burn if TN is doing good in development index. But it is coming at a cost. The social issues that the agenda causes with caste differences, religious differences is one of the breaking nature. Also, other states have a growth model, which TN is falling behind. Kerala has mostly remittance growth and it is causing investment in only some sectors like private health sector, not in public health. TN has issues with growth, it is doing good with industries (auto, textiles), but other states are going past it in growth. Look at the GST collections for eg. The revenue you generate for India's GDP will not give you bragging rights to ask for more federal funds and representation in national legislature.

There is no point in living till 70, if you stay poor.

The only thing they have done that is good is keep guys like randomguy out of TN  dravidian leaders have spoilt the people from hard working citizens to dole receiving suckers who demand the govts to give it to them. its almost like a drug thing they have created. on top of that, now you have the cheap tasmac that serves poor alcohol down the throats of idiots who line up to receive their daily serving. Not denying that anna, mgr, kk, jj also did good things but that was more of a case of them becoming millionaires doing politics so that they can do some good now and then. Some did it to gain punniyam as most of them believe in god.

So some growth metrics like investment.

Tamil Nadu has grabbed 16 per cent of the funds that came into the country during the first half of the financial year 2021 (H1FY21), according to CARE ratings. The State, which was ranked third during the same period last year, has now surged ahead to the top spot.

Andhra Pradesh ranked the second garnering 11 per cent of the investments, while Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Karnataka have attracted seven per cent investments each, says CARE Ratings, sourcing CMIE data of November 1, 2020.
