Even during bond days, it was hard when they prepared green seamers and won tosses every time. Scores we like 99 93. Yes and we wildly criticized that pitch. And the point is, India doesn't need such pitches to win and we dominated at home for almost 10 year now, without such pitches. Mark my words, if we continue with such pitches, we will set our fast bowling back 5 to 10 years. Bowlers like Siraj have developed on indian pitches. Shami, ishant, Yadav had second coming because they started dominating on home pitches. Every single one of them average below 25 at home in last 5+ years. We will destroy our fast bowling and go back to Dhoni era if we keep doing this. Bumrah is playing his first series at home and being destroyed. No one will want to be fast bowlers anymore Edited February 26, 2021 by New guy f20143g70 and GoldenSun 2

Now many are saying that every Test Match should reach Day 5. Yeah this test got over too soon but 3 day tests are common. Curators cannot prepare flat tracks to compensate for the lack of skills of the visiting team so that the every match enters Day 5. Dude this was the shortest match since world War 2. At this point you are just deluding yourself comparing this with any other pitch And I am wtill laughing at the jignostic line about - lack of skills of visitors - when our batsmen who grew up on spinning tracks gave Joe Root 5 for 8. You are just fooling yourself Edited February 26, 2021 by New guy f20143g70 and GoldenSun 2

Injuries and lack of time to prepare pitches made it difficult. You are right. Once our main bowlers in these Condtions are back we will provide sporting tracks. I am certain we only did it because we lost the first test. That first test was horrendous. It was way to toss oriented. Honestly this pitch was better. Also pink ball is weird. It behaves different to a red ball.

Bundaberg Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 That Adelaide Test was a flat track, all the Aussie pitches have been flat tracks and it's sad to see the Gabba being flat this year as well.

Just to infuriate the poms. We should always play on sporting tracks. Under the circumstances given our injury crisis, I can totally understand why they opted for such tracks. It won't be the norm otherwise I will quit watching cricket. I love our fast bowlers. They are the best in the world.

It was flat but as bouncy as ever. When it is extremely bouncy game becomes a lottery and even Thakur will become dangerous on such pitches. Not that Thakur is trash but the pitch will make him look better than he actually is.

Our pitches here in Australia have become flatter and flatter over the years, we will always have bounce here in Australia. Indian avoided Brisbane until the last test, the 1st Test is usually held in Brisbane in November, they avoided Tasmania and Perth as well, not saying it would have made a difference but I have a feeling the results would have been very different.

Indian bowling at full strength is very lethal on bouncy tracks. Best bet in Australia is to just prepare super flat wickets tbh. Win the toss and bat them out of the game. Problem is Indian bowling is good. Perth is a new stadium right? Never seen much of Tasmania. Big 4 cities are where the money is at. Not much in Perth and definitely not Hobart. That explains the reaosning rather than India actually backpedaling.

Like I said India have a good bowling line-up these days. Perth has plenty of pace and carry (not as much as the old stadium), Tassie usually has bounce and swing as it is a green pitch, Brisbane in November is a fast deck with lots of pace. MCG is starting to get back to the old style MCG pitches, but still is a bit slow.

One wants to see bat and ball contest, host should have home advantage but I dont think this is the way to go specially when we finally have a team which can beat England on most surfaces across world. India can beat this english side in aus, sa and wi. England and NZ are the only two places where current england team would go as fav. We are a good side, our wtc points say so, we can certainly do with better tracks https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/south-africa-tour-of-india-2007-08-332904/india-vs-south-africa-2nd-test-332912/full-scorecard Nobody is saying this is the way to go, But when so much is riding on this series . See youself you are so confident that India has to beat England anywhwere other than England. Indian team is not fully fit and yet it is still expected to win . TM also wants to see full five days of cricket with them winning on last day but they are not afforded that luxury in case they lose its okay too. Even in 2007-08 after losing that match on this same ground, India had to come up with spinning wicket for next test to square the series. Edited February 26, 2021 by putrevus
Real McCoy Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 8 hours ago, Stan AF said: Yes. But the fact of the matter is we lost 8 wickets on a single session. The adelaide pitch wasn't bad. So wasn't this pitch. Its the pink ball. See my thread on pink ball. We lost 7 wickets in one session yesterday but lost 9 in adelaide. Just like this match created records for finishing within 2 days, that match was also created records for India's lowest total. The pink ball last year also enabled Warner to break Bradman's record and a lower order batsmen getting a ton in Yasir Shah. No matter what pitch you prepare be it a seaming track, spinning track or flat track, the pink ball exaggerates the track and things happen quickly if it favors the bowlers no matter if its seam or spin. The lacquer makes the ball stay good for longer than 80 overs and the seam erodes much slower. If you recall a while ago, Ashwin complained about the SG ball losing the seam and makes batting easier. That's probably the reason why in the last test, it was easier to score off the old ball and Rohit and Ashwin scored much quicker Also in Adelaide, it was tough going for India in the first innings when the ball was new but it got better in the evening session when the ball was old. And immediately after the new ball was taken, quick 4 wickets for 10 runs. And we should have bowled them for 100 or so. We dropped so many catches and they shortened the lead.

Only SCG was flat because we had a good fast bowling group too and came back to win in MCG. So folks at the CA decided to put a road on the SCG where you can pile runs with your depleted batting and put us under scoreboard pressure and bowl on cracks on the final day. That's your strategy for all tracks over the years. Pile on runs, put your taller bowlers to bang on the pitch to dismiss those who can't handle bounce, and use the spinner to win in the last day. If Gabba was so flat, how come our bowlers were able to extract swing and yours can't. And your "goat" spinner can't use the cracks at the SCG and Brisbane to bowl us on the last day Maybe we were just better than you. Don't be a sore loser and accept your side lost. This time you can't even use the excuse of not having smith and warner. You lost against a team who was losing players every test and in the midst of your bullshit quarantine policy I saw the australian open award ceremony where the crowd booed heavily when the lady was propping the vaccine and the victorian govt.
Soumo Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 Our inferiority complex again coming to forefront ,we got 92 all out in one of those england test those poms commies were trolling us but here our commentators are just can't get under the skin of there players ,our communalism is killing in every aspect be it cricket or anything we just don't have our individuality attached only Gavaskar opened his mouth on this pitch noone else even we as fans are shouting like sissy's.

Green wicket is somehow accepted as fine but turning wicket is somehow is not fair.

Yep. India scared them after test 2. They assumed India would back down after Kohli left. Little do they know that India play much better as a team under Rahane who is by far the better captain.
