express bowling Posted April 9, 2022 Author Posted April 9, 2022 Umran 152 k good length 7th stump ball beats Rayudu. Good length but line slightly wide ... but it still worked because it was neither too short nor too full. Mosher and Suhaan 2

DarkProfile Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 EB, just a noob question: shouldn't they place the fielders in the deep (third man and fine leg) more fine for edges against Malik's bowling? express bowling, Suhaan and Mosher 3
singhvivek141 Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 (edited) Seems Umran is done for the day, 2 for Bhuvi...2 for Natarajan...1 maybe for Jansen Edited April 9, 2022 by singhvivek141 express bowling and Suhaan 2

Lone Wolf Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 I had my doubts whether Umran is fastest pacer in IPl but right now he is comfortably ahead of everyone including Nortje & Ferguson. Runs are mostly flying through the edges which I don't mind. He bowled a few good yorkers so it seems he is learning but afraid if he looses control. He has the ingredients & can be ready in a year or so if he's focused. Mosher and express bowling 2

Since Umran is not bowling at the death ... if he can use the good length off stump to 5th stump ball as his stock ball ... and use the yorkers and bouncers when he is in control, then he can be a really good bowler. Both his wickets in the first game were from good length balls around off stump Edited April 9, 2022 by express bowling Mosher, Suhaan, DarkProfile and 1 other 4
Jay Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Positive is umrans pace and some good length balls. Issue is he needs more bounce of his standard length balls. hope he works on it.

How come bumrah and shami get bounce. Steyn? Back of good length balls rise up. How? He can improve. Agree his natural level of bounce won't be high due to his height but if hits the deck hard consistently whilst sacrificing some pace for bounce he can achieve it consistently.

He is knee dominant bowler (and round arm),his release point is low compared to hip dominants of same height take consider that,so his bounce will not remain high Plus he's not that tall Edited April 9, 2022 by Suhaan Jay, express bowling, Mosher and 1 other 4

He is only 5 10. Yet he generates good bounce. Umran can achieve that too if he hits the deck hard but he will have to sacrifice pace. I think this boy loves pace too much so let's see anyway. Hopefully God forbid no injuries. Maybe he can learn from booms and shami later in internationals.
