Next time tag me too. Thanks. Jokes.

Yes he is quality but can he do it in tests?

I doubt, he is tall and strong but with such heavier frames I always feel susceptible if they will be able to maintain the fitness in longer formats.

Anyway...we shouldn't worry, we still have Sen, Harshit, Prasidh, Tyagi who bowl test match lengths and can get pace + bounce..Shami is going to stay for next couple of years atleast

and Siraj also has around 4-5 years in his tank...hopefully Bumrah stays fit.

Umesh who is going to complete 36 should call off by this year.

Yudhvir should focus on shorter formats along with Umran..plus work on his batting ability.

Going to be an incredible quartet once fit.

Prasidh steaming in with bounce

Kuldeep pace and bouncy

Tyagi can be the express one with 142-150 given 4 over spells

Harshit ansother pacy bouncy bowler

Add in umran to knock of tail and stubborn middle order bats if he gets a chance.

There is more

Gurnoor is there too.

Mayank yadav is really quick too.

Vaibhav arora himself has decent pace

Apple tom is fast and fairly tall.

And this is ofcourse post bumrah siraj and shami. Shami will be leaving in a year or 2.

Yudhvir first over 137-142..most of deliveries in 140's.

His back of length deliveries seems tougher for the batters to face..it's his full deliveries which seems floaty.

he is a tall bowler and gets good bounce like ISHANT- if he improves his speed a little, he may get picked for India.

I think his speeds are fine, even Prasidh don't bowl 145k and often oscillates between 135 to 142k. Tall hit the deck bowlers who generate good bounce..even 135-137 k is tough to face.

He just need to focus on his batting/hitting ability...that's where DC and Shardul gets an edge, specially in overseas.

Nope.  No chance. You need tobe short, a trundler and someone who can swing the ball like bhoobi to play for india. Line and length only.

No. No chance.

Short trundler who can swing is what management likes.

Harshal Mukesh Kumar bhoobi etc first choice.

Also we prefer tall trundlers who don't get bounce.

Either short trundkers who swing or tall trundlers who get zero bounce.

Prasidh was bowling regularly in high 140s last IPL before getting injured

There are some bowlers who are quite rythmic, when they are in rythm they tend to clock higher speeds

Prasidh to me is one

Ok, I should have mentioned I was talking about internationals and not IPL..yeah he clocked 145+ in IPL (even 148-149k)..in internationals he mostly clock 135-142..with few balls at 144-145.

He was clocking higher when he debuted against Eng early 2021

Sometimes I feel our selectors are compromised, they purposefully choose a squad with players who will ensure we will lose.

I can't believe each of them can be so inept and fail to understand even the basics which we as a fans understand it.

I am certain there is political influence behind most selections.

Man we can't even get rid of rahane and pujara hahaha. They keep coming back like cockroaches.

I think Yudhvir can touch 145k...  It was very hot yesterday acc to commies.  Farooqi is one of the rare 140k bowler from Afg but even he was trundling at 130k Y'day..

Also as he bowls back of the length mostly so speed gun shows good 2-3ks slower than a fuller ball.

Yudhvir needs work on his fuller balls.  Like Prasidh he can be floaty at times.

Deepak chahar and Shardul get into the AR category. a 6 feet 3 inches who has control over line n length, bowls 140 to 148K and gets bounce can be picked purely as third pacer on SENA tracks. as it makes sense to play 3 pacers 1 AR and a Spinner in to t20/odi/tests when playing in SENA countries. In some countries like england  , some teams don't play even one Spinner, they do play swing bowlers but no spinners.

Agree that he can be picked as a third pacer, but if he can improve on his ability (something which Chahar and Shardul did gradually), that gives him an "extra edge" in comparison with other pacers like Prasidh, Kuldeep, Tyagi or Harshit. I use the same analogy for Hangargekar as well.

We have been using likes of Shardul and Bhuvi in the past due to the same excuse that they can contribute with bat which other pacers can't.

No Avinash again in RCB, and they still trust Vyshak and Harshal.

RR are another buffons who still trust Kuldip Yadav over Sen....plus they have only 2 pacers and one of them is Asif.

Just look at 2 categories

1) short trundler and swing potency

2) tall trundler with low to non exiting bounce.

Kuldip vyshak and harshal fit the bill perfectly.

Also eggsperience.

In saying that, on these dead slow tracks, honestly bowling pace may be futile. Perhaps a bounce bowler can do damage but not a speedster. Blame the shitty tracks that's allowing trundlers to perform better than they normally would.

I would really wish to see one IPL in Australia or South Africa.
Would be fun seeing the tall fast pacers bamboozling the batters. In India except Dharamshala, Wankhede and to an extent Eden Gardens...all pitches are spin friendly.

that's the key sentence. useless flat tracks may get trundlers into the game and they can overshadow fast bowlersbut if the tracks has a lil shade of green , lil support that's the time when the genuine bounce and pace bowlers look deadly .in swing conditions also , genuine swing bowlers like bhuvi , deepak chahar or genuine fast pacers ( they get lil swing due to conditions ) , fast bowler has to not worry and simply bowl on the wickets first to 5th stump and success is assured or atleast the batsman has to play straight bat cricket.

i opened and my coach used to tell me to play with a straight bat for first 5 overs andwhen ever i batted like that i was not out till the 5th over and then i gave my wicket in the 12th over or later
