I for once think its good that Kartik Tyagi and Umran didn’t get to bowl much in this edition as this has been the worst IPL for pacers and they would have curbed their attacking instincts to stop runs,

Lance Klusener mentioned that quality of bowling in this IPL has been subpar.

The amount of yorkers this season has been very less and were replaced by cutters off the pitch.

Tyagi is erratic but if he has one thing going for that is yorkers. His fast yorkers are as potent as Bumrah and hence that should have helped him.

Umran I think would have done better against the power hitters, considering how less reaction time they will have against him. Someone like Dube must have struggled vs Umran..who depends on power.

Arora  144.4 k attempted yorker.

And 2 wickets so far.

Bowling mostly at 134 to 137 k.

He is the "trundler" we need to have.

Skillful with new ball, and can up his pace as well if he wants do.

Unlike the other 130kph short trundlers who have no skill but to float the ball.

Apart from.Bumrah, Pathirana and Natarajan, not a single pacer has tried or has been able to execute their yorkers regularly.

And this is a big issue.

Even slower balls ard going for runs.

So why not try yorkers / learn them before the tournament started ??

It takes lot of effort. Cutters are easy option.

Plus can not develop good yorkers quickly, if they are not practiced to perfection it becomes full-toss and easy hits these days

Starc, Rabada, Nortje all tried yorkers but mostly ended up as full-tosses and easy boundary

Trundlers like Deepak Chahar skip the domestics. I wonder what keeps them busy.

Added new skills but speeds are bit down compared to last season

When Harshit has bowled flat out, he has bowled entire overs at 143 k to 146 k.

But most matches are such high scoring affairs that bowling flat out is not happening for most pacers.

Harshit has to do something really eye catching in the rest of the tournament to get selected. Bumrah, Siraj and Arshdeep are still the likeliest candidates.
