But how do they know the baseline or the speed corresponding to 100 %? 150k?

They measure during training using handheld speed radars. Like Mayank last year clocked 146 on pocket radar in the LSG nets. I have not seen anyone clock 146 on pocket radar. So they calculate based on top speed clocked.

100% should be top speed of 155 k for Mayank.

But what is 0% ?

Even if he bowls jogging in, he is unlikely to go below 130 k.

95% of 25 ( 155 - 130 )  is 23.75 and added to 130 k should be highest speed of 153.8 k.

I think 100% they may be thinking 145-150k.. just my guess..so he must be bowling consistently in early 140s or high 130s that time.. 155k was top speed..so may not be considering for average..will be happy if that was the case though..

I am looking here mostly for good long season for him..initially he may be bit cautious..like he was when he debuted against Bdesh after coming back from injury..

Once he feels confident and gets to trust his body..he may pump it up..

Though I dont want him to just settle into 140ks..but want him to come back strong like Mark wood every time..it will be greedy though..

Question remains 95% of?

Good point about the 0 percent. Right, that’s another baseline lower bound they should assume first.

@Autonomous told you Saim Ayub is not a T20 player.

Saim is nt that tall, t20 is hard for such player can easy be checked with slower bumpers.

bowling away and do not think he has good power game but think he is an upgrade on what pak has rt. now.

At least he can hit 6s and has understanding of t20 game.

Let's see,

If he is really fit, and is able to bowl 2 games without breaking down even at 140-145kph. He will push himself and may start bowling faster.

Bowlers like him can generate the pace courtesy of their runup and efficient action which doesn't lead to any loss in the momentum. So if they are fit and running well, pace will come automatically.

In Ban series, he wasnt running as quick as he was in IPL. He was not 100% fit, yet clocked 151.

In that Bangla series, he was bowling slower also coz these idiots tinkered with his action and he suck up to it. Started talking about line n length like a clown in his interviews, forgetting about his own strengths.

I have my doubts with him too. It’s not just a fitness issue in his case. Although probably fitness is the most important one.

Although he came back after injury layoff

His interviews were just alarming

,he gave me Mavi looser vibes, only losers like him and Mavi who have this precious gift of natural pace talk about compromising it
