Ankit_sharma03 Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 (edited) Like every year here i bring the SWOT analysis for every team , Starting with Strength Very solid indian core- Pant, shaw, dhawan, ashwin, rahane, ishant, umesh, Amit mishra .....to do well in IPL u need a good indian core Rabada-Nortje Form of Shaw n Pant Solid 5 bowlers in which 5th choice wud be - Ishant/umesh/mishra (what players to have for horses for courses ) Dhawan becomes an Asset in IPL Good backups Good mix of Left-Right batsman Weakness- They dont have someone like a russell, pandya , pollard at 6 or 7. With iyer injury i think stonis will bat high . They have picked ripal n lalit for the power hitter role but they lack experience Temptation to play Rahane n Smith in absence of Iyer which cud work as speed breakers for them Opportunity For ashwin n dhawan to reclaim their spot in indian t20 side Pant to prove his captaincy Shaw to be back in India reckoning Potential team that can beat Threat captaincy can affect pant's batting also their batsman wont enjoy slow surfaces Gameplan - with iyer gone i think they shud have hetymer n pant at 3 n 4 and play attacking cricket, MI has already shown hows its done. dilliboy Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Yep first game they'll probably go with Woakes, Curran and Mishra. Woakes is a decent backup but curran could become a liability. But does give them extra batting depth

Might also decide to go with Umesh and Ishant both actually.. In that case, Smith at 3 and Billings at 6..seems a decent first XI I'll go with Shaw Dhawan Smith Pant Stoinis Billings Woakes Mishra Ashwin Ishant Umesh

It was my xi , never said DC will play this
