North vs South vs West vs East/Central- Which Zone (currently) will win the 50 over Format ??

Recommended Posts

We had a similar post for All time players, lets discuss if it were to happen today . I have combined East n Central zone due to lack of batting talent but abundance of bowling talent did create a problem for sure.

North Zone

  1. Dhawan
  2. Gill
  3. Kohli (c)
  4. Pant
  5. Rana
  6. Samad
  7. Tewatia
  8. Harshal patel
  9. Saini
  10. Arshdeep singh
  11. Chahal

Extra- Abhishek Sharma, Jayant yadav

  • Since Ishant has no future in LOI so i didnt pick him
  • They can play any of abhishek n Jayant incase they want variety in bowling as all Chahal, samad, tewatia are leggie
  • Why Harshal ?? Coz kohli prefers batting at 8 and its also important in 50 over to now

West Zone

  1. Shaw
  2. Rohit (c)
  3. Hardik Pandya
  4. Iyer
  5. Sir jadeja
  6. SKY
  7. Aditya Tare (wk)
  8. Axar Patel
  9. Shardul
  10. Bumrah
  11. Unadkat/Sakaria

Extra- Ruturaj, Krunal, dube , Sarfraz

  • They also suffer massively from lack of variety in spin
  • Their Top 3 will be the most dangerous

South Zone

  1. Devdutt
  2. Mayank
  3. Samson (wk)
  4. Shankar
  5. KL Rahul
  6. Manish Pandey (c)
  7. Sundar
  8. Ravi Ashwin
  9. Siraj
  10. Prasidh
  11. Natrajan

Extra- Sandeep Warrier, K gowtham, Gopal, M ashwin

  • Lack variety in spin - if needed they can call M ashwin or Shreyas gopal but Gopal has declined badly and M ashwin i doubt can be good for 10 overs
  • Manish n Shankar can interchange position

East/Central Zone

  1. Ishan Kishen
  2. Easwaran/Patidar / Venkatesh iyer
  3. Priyam Garg
  4. Virat Singh
  5. Riyan Parag
  6. Suyyash Prabhudesai
  7. Anukul roy/ Shahbaz ahmed
  8. Rahul Chahar
  9. Bhuvi
  10. Shami
  11. Avesh Khan

Extra- Kuldeep, Khaleel, Deepak Chahar, Mavi, Tyagi, Nagarkotti, Porel, Umesh Yadav, Bishnoi

  • Clearly as you can finishing their batting was a task so combined their teams but they have no shortage in bowling stock

Positives

  • North- High quality batting that will get them 300 most days
  • South - very good all round bowling attack and solid batting
  • West - That top 3 is Fireeeee and SKY at the end is icing on the cake + great captain
  • East- very good bowling attack

Negatives

  • South Lacks a Power player at 6,7
  • West Lacks tooth in bowling after Bumrah
  • North lacks a good captain also bowling doesnt look strong
  • East /Central - batting is inexperienced and unreliable

West > South > East ~North

West is the most powerful team. Solid match winners.

South has a good bowling attack but definitely not prefer to have useless hacks like Manish and Shankar in. There are better upcoming players.

North is a weak team with mediocre bowlers and good for nothing captaincy. They will make 250+ consistently though only for their bowlers to get whipped later.

Central-East doesn't have a lot of good players but they can still manage to beat North team thanks to the latter's captain.
