If you go by reputation, best English side is the one around 2011-13 led by Strauss. Strong batting, their bowlers at peak, Ashes win Aus.

But Vaughan has better record.

Vaghan inherited a team full of potential from Nasser Hussain and I think the 2005 Ashes was a massive planning for 5 years where Hussain & Duncan Fletcher identified candidates for winning back the Ashes.

Eng had lost Ashes for continuous 4-5 series against Mark Taylor, Waugh, Ponting

They won 5 series in SENA in the 90s, thats not nothing. Kohli will win his second series in SENA with this tour, for comparison. If he also wins the upcoming SA series, he can be the contender for greatest Asian cap

They haven't won anything in Australia yet which countries did they win series in the 90s.

3 in nz, 2 in England. I think one of them is a one-off match so probably not a series

SENA used to be SEWA at that time.

Newzealand was a very weak team, they never won a series in Aus, South africa and Windies so that's three out of four competitive countries, I"ll call that underachieving , also they were nowhere close to being as dominant as Kohli's team at home. They lost a series against Zimbabwe and Srilanka.

If Kohli wins this series I am definitely gonna call this team better than 90s pak.

What? This team would pummel 90s pak team in Asia.

I agree with you, but I won't use the word 'pummel' they had good players of spin  and their fast bowlers were good in Asian conditions too, Saqlain is better than Lyon and Moeen who usually trouble us.
