We also tour South Africa end of this year. Won't be a cake walk no matter how weak the SA team looks. SA games the pitches to their advantage depending on the tourists just like the Kiwis. We will win hopefully 9 / 14 and maybe lose 2 ( worst case ). Kohli will eventually surpass Ponting. It's a shame he is such an abhorrent tyrant and above the rules in Indian cricket. Vijy 1
Adamant Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Kohli is already ahead of any other asian captain. That's good. Pakistan had a very good bowling attack in the 90s and a solid batting attack but they achieved nothing in test cricket.

Realistically this will happen; Win vs england 2-1 or 3-1 hopefully S.africa 2-1 India should beat Aussies 3-0 India whitewashes Bangladesh India Should annihilate n.z so 12-2 best case. Worst case realistically should be; 2-2 England 2-1 s.africa wins 3-1 India wins vs australia 2 -0 India wins vs Bangladesh 2-0 India wins vs n.z So; 10 - 4 Not bad.

I put bumrah above wasim in terms of ability. Only difference is that bumrah is still relatively new. Has to add more games to his resume. Put this indian pace attack to support old 90s Pakistan side and they would wreak havoc everywhere. High possibility of winning In sena even on bouncy wickets. India has weak batting now. Only have 3 batsmen. Pant Rahul and rohit. Rest are all past it or out of form like kohli. Bowling carried this team to number 1. Imo n.z is still the phoney number one. Bumrah might be able to surpass Wasim as he underachieved (not sure about it though) but in terms of ability there hasn't been a bowler who comes close to Akram, so no, ability wise they are not even on the same stratosphere Wasim was a magician, he moved the balls even on pattas, A rich man's Trent Boult. Shoaib didn't play much test cricket in the 90s so I am not counting him.

All top batsmen started playing post 94. He struggled ever since. He is vastly overrated. He got hammered in India and Australia. Shami is deadly. Waqar thrived off wasim.
