mancalledsting Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 KLR- only just starting to settle into test match batting overseas, hence cannot play about with his position in the batting order now. Especially as opening a traditional weak spot for Indian batsmen. Rohit Pujara- not happy with him long term but for this series has found a degree of rhythm and so given his experience and once in a while match defining overseas knocks, must play next game Kohli Rahane- calm head to have around the side. Tactically very shrewd and so I’m sure can provide advice to VK. Best player against out and out quick bowling and Old Trafford typically quick. Mark Wood also coming back in. Jadeja- Better batsmen/fielder than Ashwin, Ashwin doesn’t have a stellar SENA bowling record Pant (wk) Thakur- good batsmen, can get crucial breakthroughs with the ball (eg Gabba and Oval). Fighter. Umesh/Shami/Siraj- pick 2/3 from whoever fittest Bumrah

SRT100 Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 Kohli is too arrogant to see that Ashwin as a batsmen would make India a stronger batting unit if he came in for Rahane. Its actually comical now to see Rahane go out to bat each innings. To put Rahane's effort in this series in perspective, he has only score about 22 more runs than Bumrah.
