  1. 1. Are Rohit and Kohli justified in taking such a strong stance

    • Yes, they have to take a stance on behalf of all others (as BCCI cannot afford to NOT accept their stance)
    • No, they just worked for their IPL masters to mint more money
    • Can't say either ways. We never know what their true concerns are.

Should've taken a strong stance before the test series to cancel it altogether and gone straight to IPL…

Why can’t BCCI organise IPL through out the year and earn huge sums of monies. Players too could earn more.

What next IPL edition in USA and Europe. Even an UK edition too.

Player Families can use these trips to travel to new places and if given a chance, do shopping & dine out.

:nice:

honestly it could happen. imagine 3 IPL torunaments a year. The money will be exorbitant for players. unreal money.

average player will be earning millions per year that way.

Trouble happens with Rohit around:

  • 2019 ODI WC post SF controversy (creating camps if I am not wrong)
  • IPL injury-Aus tour controversy
  • In Aus, ignoring protocol controversy (eating out)
  • In Eng, the last test controversy

gee i dint think of these things. ploy to be captain perhaps? honestly he would be a much better captain than kuli but......its not going to happen .

I don't think it is a deliberate ploy or something. It probably happens because of his influence as a person in a group/team. Even though he is not that senior as compared to the likes of Ishant, Pujara or Rahane, he exerts so much more influence on the test team than them.

Fully agree with the bolded part and it is team India's loss that we won't have him as a captain.

well rohit is our best batsman now in all formats. That should tip it in his favour unless rat goes on another peak form like root did recently.

root has a more well rounded game and has no real weakness apart from the odd outside off stump ball and some inswinging yorkers.

kohli's penchant to slash and his ability to play exclusively through the V channnel makes him inferior in terms of an well rounded skillset. He doesnt have too many shots in his arsenal. he cant sweep, slog sweep, cant cut at wide balls etc.

What? Before Aus tour, he wasn't even a certainty in our test team. People here were saying he wasn't picked in the test squad for Australia because Kohli is sidelining him.

The French would have appreciated Kohli's "French" too
