There is no duty towards nation here, players represent private bodies/organisations which are run by politicians. Players get paid truckloads and boards become rich.

Admirable and best wishes to his family but don’t think he is the first ever cricketer to undergo something like that. Recently I remember Siraj being in a similar situation where his father passed away in the middle of the bio bubble and also I think Naseem Shah’s mom had passed away during a tour.
