Not 1983. Not 2001. Not 2011. In my view, it was the series in Australia. Away series in Australia. Full strength Aussie team touting this as revenge series. India All out for 36 in first test. Losing top players including captain and playing effectively with B team. Unbelievable win at MCG with 100 by new captain. Great save in Sydney. Final test at insurmountable Gabba. Chasing 300 plus in final innings. 
 

I dare say this should rank as not just as a great cricketing story but possibly the greatest comeback in all of sports.

In terms of the odds stacked against them, not to mention the idiosyncrasies of the sport called "test" cricket, I doubt there's a better comeback story

I didn't even mention covid bubble. India team was in bubble for almost 6 months by that point. Remarkable story
