Gopal doesn't have the game i think, he always comes across as a batsman in the mould of Kumble, might be useful to stitch a partnership together thats about it. Infact his bowling has taken a nose dive as well recently.

yes, he is past it now. leg spinners are rare. rahul chahar could also bat a bit once, but his bowling has fallen off. bishnoi cannot really bat much, and his bowling is suited only for T20s as of now. I think markandeya is underrated a bit. good records, I like what I saw in the past, and he can also bat a bit. if a spinner can score some runs at 8/9, that is fine

I don't know about Markande's batting abilities but he too has gone out of favour even in IPL. The best bet at this moment could be to wish & hope Sundar turns out to be a gun all rounder, kind of in the mould of Sakib.

he is a finger spinner. we have such finger-spin ARs in the form of axar, jaddu, and ash for indian conditions. hopefully sundar does well abroad. however, he will not break into team as long as seniors occupy middle order.

I think Sundar's potential is much more than the likes of Axar/Jadeja/Ashwin. But yeah you are right, till the time there is hegemony at the top 3, Indian limited overs cricket will continue to suffer.

Classic case of grass being greener on the other side.

Most of the guys you mentioned in OP too aren't really out and out all rounders.

Thakur - white ball bowling very limited

Chahar- not sold on him as bowler in ODI and he also has limitations

Sundar- power game not developed n bowling for 50 over needs to worked on (but good option)

Jadeja- never been great in white ball

axar- batting not strong

Ashwin- ok

Krunal - just can pass in t20 that to only on certain kind of pitches as bowler, battting is very weak against pace

Samad- a part timer

venky - not international standard

Reality is once hardik n jaddu got injured we were struggling n come Wc if we dont find their backup we are in huge problem

I listed options, like in OP

To have backups,we need to back these guys. Sundar can develop into MO+ 6th bowler (ODIs) and guys like Samad,Chahar will improve if they play more.

there are other youngsters like Abhishek Sharma,Sai Kishore who can develop in future

By that logic, everyone that @Lord mentioned in his post too are "multi dimensional players". Aren't they?

You can't just include Labuschagne, Head, Alzarri etc and rule out Chahar, Thakur , Krunal.

labu owns a place in ODI XI

alzaari too is quite permanent

and both their 1st skill is strong

Head again i mentioned is not in reckoning ( u need to read the post properly 1st )

thakur white ball bowling is not strong his 1st aspect

Krunal again doesnt have anything strong going for him

chahar fine

These arent strong options .
