Also, it is not just about IPL. He has made impact all over the world in every form of the game. Guy has 2 triple centuries in test cricket. How many average cricketers have that? This record will always keep him in an elite category.

It's a myth that Gayle is destructive in International cricket. He is destructive only in T20s and his stats back that as well. Sehwag has a strike rate of 82 and 104 in Tests and ODIs compared to Gayle's 60 and 85 SR which is miles below Sehwag and just on par with today's stats.

Gayle is a T20 legend. From 2011-2013 he was incredibly consistent all over the world in T20. His achievements at Test level are not too bad. Gavaskar had his place as one of the finest Test openers in history. This comparison is akin to comparing Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson. Both have their own niche of excellence.

Same is Gayle for T20 cricket. And Afridi's days never come. You must be naive to comapre Gayle to Afiridi. Gayle has 2 triple 100s in tests. Only 4 guys have that feat in over 100 years of tests cricket. So, Gayle's name will be there till test cricket is there.
