That was slick. All you guys would be rizzing this up if it is a Bollywood movie.

No we won't even if it was bollywood movie reason being real action always work and over the top action always looks childish there is a reason action of kill animal dhurandhar or marcos was praised because it felt real, plz tell me bc sex ki beech main bomb kab se phatne lage, pushpa 2 and kgf worked because it was a common man story but dhurandhar has both common man and patriot which is a deadly combo, trailer is slick but leo gathered 1 mil views in 30 hr but we all know how it end up problem with movies like toxic and over over the top action is after one point it starts feeling cringy, don't get me wrong yash is a huge star but a limited actor while dhurandhar has  plethora of fine actors with hopefully a content driven script ( banking on dhar to do that) plus a underrated shashwat sachdev to bank upon

And trust me dhurandhar 2 hasn't even gone into promotion mode and people are still in gaga mode over dhurandhar 1, imagine the euphoria when part 2 craze takes over

And what is there in Durandhar and it was just another movie for Chapri nationalists. Outside a couple of scenes it was just another standard run of the mill movie.

And the whole shootout and the climax fight was substandard. It only became this big of a movie only because the ruling governments PR promoted it heavily through their IT cells because it helps them politically otherwise it's just another above average movie.

Yes we'll have to see how Toxic fares because it's directly competing with Durandhars sequel which already has immense hype going for it.

Everybody would be singing praises if this is a Hollywood or Bollywood movie.

The whole adult scene was creative though I doubt it would pass the Censor test.

No it was not ,chapri like over the top action not raw fights,it being promoted by govt is secondary it had good storyline plus it showed real scenes acting was good from everyone, every song and bgm was according to situation so it was bound to do well also it criticized both nda as well as upa I don't know about you but I had watched news of both ic814 hijacking Kargil war as well as 2008 attack when it actually happened along with 2001 attack on parliament and trust me every Indian mourn that so yes I dunno about u but majority of icfers especially the older ones know that nationalism is not chhapri

This is just a teaser for promoting the movie. Doubt we'll see this bit in the final output. If it's a slightly decent movie, it will do better than Durandhar 2 in the South.

What do you mean by chapri nationalists? Nationalism is nationalism, nothing chapri or dehati about it. And all of us are proud of what our unknown men do in Pakistan.

Dhurandhar worked because it focused on content (Dhar even avoided item songs and raunchy scenes), good performances, and kickass music/BGM. It is this generations's Satya with great rewatch value.

Ruling government PR where? Modi hasn't tweeted about it, no special screening for PM/President, not declared tax free in BJP states. Very little publicity, movie worked due to good word of mouth, where week 2 mogged week 1 collection.

We are all proud of the unknown men doing dirty work but movies stopped being movies since a long time ago. Movie reviews and box office collections had become a larger part of narrative setting for the ruling governments.

All the usual IT cell twitter handles, meme and Bollywood subs(part of the IT cell network) on Reddit promoted this movie heavily.

Hardly a couple of interesting scenes for me and the final shootout scene totally spoiled and overall made it an above average movie for me.

Didn't find the dead pan expressions from Akshay Khanna interesting and didn't really understood the hype around his character. Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal were pretty good actually.

And the Bolly folks on this forum casually throw around the words Chapri and Dehat due to their internal bias and prejudices and I am just showing them the mirror.

It all started after Anupama Chopra, Rahul Desai, Sucharita, KRK, Raja Sen, NDTV's Saibal, Ishita Sengupta etc. lambasted the movie in their reviews on day 1, no concrete criticism, just that it portrayed ISI and jihadis in a certain manner irked them. Then Dhruv Rathee's agenda-driven toxic video. Movie had a sedate start but after all the negative reviews and whole of Bollywood being silent, public reactions and reviews were polar opposite. Many usual critics and trade analysts also maintained silence because they weren't given samosas by Dhurandhar team.

What you saw on SM was a reaction to that negativity.

You are in the minority then. Most here enjoyed it thoroughly and watched it multiple times. Even the likes of RGV, Kashyap, Vanga, Sid Malhotra were impressed.

@Tillu even if you didn't like this movie, can't understate its importance vis-a-vis portrayal of Pak/ISI. For too long, Bollywood has peddled this aman ki asha crap, RAW-ISI sem2sem, how Pak are innocent and/or equal victims of terrorism. I don't think South industries were infected with this peacenik/apologetic virus, they also never had someone like Dawood Ibrahim funding their movies.

A movie like Ikkis would have done very well if it released before Dhurandhar. And that movie is straight from ISPR playbook.

We need more movies to push our narrative. Many of these Gen Z kids have no idea bout the weekly terror attacks we faced in 90s and 2000s, Pak's hand in them, our weak response. Bits of it may seem like propaganda, but much needed. In fact Dhar has been very subtle about it, that is what elevates the experience compared to a Vivek Agnihotri movie.

As per blinds/leaks, Aditya Chopra/YRF are having second thoughts about Alpha now. Apparently 4 ft, 80 pounds midget Alia Bhatt is a RAW agent, Sharvari Wagh an ISI agent, and they team up to take down a rogue Indian agent/military guy who is played by Bobby Deol. These kind of chwtya plots have been norm for YRF Spyverse for too long, and made lots of $$$.

Even for fiction, these kinds of plots are an insult to Indian intelligence and our bravehearts. Thanks to Dhurandhar/Dhar, won't be seeing such garbage peddled as entertainment now, hopefully forever. Pakistan is our enemy, no Pakistani should ever be trusted or humanized.....not just India, all of humanity has bled enough because of that evil country/society.

Exactly @Tillu probably hasn't seen the phase of 2000's and 10 era when blasts use to happen often and all we could do ninda and dossier not to forget army had to take permission to fire in response of fire such was the condition, just imagine the state of nation then when bat team ledchy iliyas kashmiri(major iqbal)attack and beheads the soldier and display it proudly

This is Durex co*dom selling cocky bhai vs Apex Predator + wrath of God (after killing rehman) Jaskirat Singh

It will bomb in Hindi belt and fade away quickly in South as well.

450 cr budget of Toxic lol, they will do well to even break even at this rate

We did take revenge of that in Operation Ginger...  Several heads of Pakistani soldiers were brought here

Never revealed officially coz of conventions.

South Indian cinema needs to stop pandering to Chapri Dehati fan service to attract Pan India audience and actually create good content.

Mallu Industry seem to be creating best content off late @Gollum

Vikram was so damn good as well.

Then came Kgf 2 and Pushpa 2 with this dehati kachra.

Hopefully Dhurandhar has changed the direction of filmmaking to an extent In Hindi belt.

Dhurandhar's action sequences were great.

Smart action in line with international standards. All the fighting/shooting had a tactical bent to it.

The fight in the car is one of the goated scenes.

After RRR, Dhurandhar gonna blow up on Netflix amongst international audiences.

Gritty well made  film with banger soundtrack.

There is a difference between chutia action and smart action.

RRR did really well internationally cause its action set pieces were super creative. Dhurandhar is the best since then (although 2 will have the big set pieces).

The only piece of smart action in the Toxic trailer was where he uses his foot to point the gun the other way and then swivels it to kill the guy. That was really cool.

RRR had these kind of moments in spades.

Dunno why but I find the action and trailer too over the top, usual glorifying of actor,i can already assume he will beat baddies without breaking sweat ,can already see that unless strong word of mouth this movie won't do well in north indian centres with dhurandhar part 2 overshadowing it

looks like a condom ad
